I know Joga isn't on biophilia but if she sounds like that constantly the album must be great. (It is great btw) We all must be doing something right musically if we are listening to PW... *WARNING: Completely unrelated thing coming up, the word musically reminded me of it*My old school music lessons (I dropped them at the end of year 9, when i came back this year jumped for joy when it wasn't on my timetable) depressed me to no end and i would deliberately be not co-operative when attempting to play guitar... or any instrument. Also the guitar teacher (we all got forced once to go to one) bitched at me for being right-handed and feeling more comfy playing the guitar with my left hand, god... I hated music lessons.

he was the devil! here something he said to me: ' You were holding that the wrong way! How can you even play it like that' when he had just watched me finish my last assessment.... (might not sound like much but performing in front of a crowd didn't help my mood) Considering downloading some of her older albums, whats your favourite one? Might as well start somewhere

I think my favourite's probably Medúlla. The first time i listened to it i thought it was the weirdest album i'd ever heard, but then i ended up loving it. The songs are almost entirely made up of vocals instead of instruments - a lot of it's really weird but it's very beautiful. I'll post a song from it, this is Oceania: I'll try my best to describe her other albums but i'm not very good at describing music! Debut and Post are kind of more pop-like and not as experimental as her later albums. Homogenic is a bit darker, some of the songs are quite electronic-ish but there's also kind of slower songs like Joga. Vespertine is about being in love, it's really pretty and peaceful. Then there's Medulla, then Volta which is also kind of "weird" - i don't really know how how to describe it so i'll post a video of Wanderlust which is one of my favourite songs (btw the video is really really weird -probably the weirdest music video i've ever seen!!! and the foghorns at the start are the transition between this song and the song before on the album, but they go on for ages!): The best place to start might be her Greatest Hits album, that's the first album i got when i discovered her music. (It doesn't have anything from Medulla and Volta, but it's got a good mix of her earlier songs.)

Oh, Bjork, how I adore her! I was really excited about Biophilia, and it didn't disappoint me. It's great. But Crystalline is the best one though and to be honest, I thought that the album is going to be more... I don't know, epic? A little bit more powerful? I think she can do better, and it's obviously not in her top3 albums. But the best thing about this record is probably her going on tour (sorry!). I missed her last time she was in Poland, and now she's coming again, so I'm extatic ONLY 7 months left, YAY! And guys, what do you think of 'Dancing in the dark'? As far as I love Bjork, I didn't find the movie as interesting as I expected, except the soundtrack, which leaves me speechless every time. SO many people had told me the film moved them to tears, but I thought it was quite boring.

^ REALLY? I mean: really? you didn't like it? I don't know it's horribly depressing to me every time I watch it and every time I watch it, I want to fly over to the US and spend the rest of my life protesting against and trying to end death peneality... I think I know what you mean concerning Biophilia. I love it, I really do and from the snippets I've seen from the live shows, I assume it sounds epic live. BUT...and this is not meant as an argument, rather an observation...the record sounds hell of a lot claustrophobic. I imagined it to sound way more vast and epic (don't even know if that makes sense, but I don't know how else to describe it) once I'd heard of the massive exclusively built instruments she would use...and then you have this amazing sound of it, but it sounds like your trapped in a dark room who wants to foul you it's the endless universe but you can sense the walls are enclosing you in a not so big space. ehm yes...don't know if that makes any sense for anyone, but that is what it sounds like to me. I would have wished and expected this album to sound more open space and not so confined...
