The Days is another song that had really different lyrics when it was in its infant stages, which leads me to an actual contribution: Does anyone else wonder what it would have been like if No Ghosts had come to be? An entire soundtrack by Patrick? I think it would have been my favourite movie, just for the eargasms. I wonder if he finished any songs beside The Days for it before the project got canned... I never heard about this, what happened? (sounds like it would have been wonderful!!!)

And back to "The Tower", I find it really interesting that he started off asking "William, where is my tower?" (Which was dropped before it became "Thickets".) Wasn't that released before anyone knew about who he was actually talking about there? I remember wondering who William was when I heard it, but I digress. I am pretty sure that the first recording of The Tower is a few years older than Patrick's relationship with William, though. I've only recently been rediscovering old gems, so I might be remembering things wrong. EDIT: The session it's from is taped in 2005, and I'm not entirely convinced he's singing "William", but I can't really hear what else it could be. I have no idea what actually happened to No Ghosts, though. There were trailers back in '07, but after that it all went quiet. Maybe they didn't get funding enough to finish it. Maybe it's still in production. There's a trailer here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcp7NDeFF68And the official site for it: www.noghosts.co.uk/ (which features an instrumental version of The Days) /t

Is that the version that's on the Secret Garden site? (If so, I always thought he was saying "William".)

Maybe it IS William. I can't say I'm sure. For some reason, the file I was listening to might have some microscopic audio glitch right at that point. In the version which is on youtube, it DOES sound like William.
Also, I actually forgot completely about Lemuralia. I listened to it once or twice and then it's been out of both my stack of regularly played cds and mp3 player. It's not very exciting, apart from Oil Slick, which has mystified me and charmed me since Ada Zanditon used it for the catwalk (but it's nice to have a name for it and a proper quality version of it!) and that rather dancey The Falcons mix.

I could've sworn he said the "William, where is my tower?" line was supposed to reference William Butler Yeats, since he was inspired by his poem "The Tower". Edit: I just went to re-listen to it on YouTube and a commenter said the same. He posted the lyrics to Thickets in a myspace blog (oh memories...) and wrote " by Patrick for William Yeats", so I would assume he originally meant WBY in The Tower. (PS: why does his accent sound so weird at the beginning of this?? haha) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p4UOfFGdQI

^ It's always interesting to see old things uncovered! Sorry if this has been already asked and answered but I'm a noob so... ^^; Could anyone tell me if these lyrics are correct? I found a youtube vid with the lyrics and wanted to make sure these are the correct lyrics. (not an English speaker, so help me! ) The boy loves the wolf The wolf loves the boy They're kissing in the forest One hand on his shoulder One hand on her hand of joy Singing la la
The father has a gun He's hiding behind a tree He doesn't want a wolf In his family Singing la laAnd which one is the correct title of the song?? I found 2 vids on YT and one says 'Short Story' and the other says 'Short Stories'.

Patrick calls it Short Story in this video ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jcmVDZn6W0) so that's probably the right title. And I think those lyrics are correct. (But the version I just posted has slightly different lyrics - in the first "la la..." bit he says "they sing for their love", and after "he doesn't want a wolf in the family", it's "he says (?) you'd better run run... for your love" instead of "la la...")

Oh, thank you! I saw this vid on YT and later that live vid, couldn't tell which one is the correct title: It's really important for me to know the correct title because I'm working on some 'fanart' based on the song(taking longer and longer to actually finish it, though -___-) Thank you again!

Somehow my attempt to study turned into making a huge list all of the PW songs i've never heard live (so i get to score them off the list when I hear them and because i'm such an obsessive person ) So anyway, i thought i'd post the unreleased list here as a nice little summary: Beastiality Blackbird Short Story (or Stories ) The Hairy Song Midnight Six Moons Ago *Eustacia *Rites Of Spring Free, But Not For Long (Bishi vocals) Volcanoradio Brother John Wild Life *Nocturne The Halcyon Treasure Trail *Prince April The Barghest (early version of Oblivion) The Tower (early version of Theseus) * = we don't have a recording I've missed out songs we don't know the name of and covers. Feel free to add anything

Orpheo? But i don't know if that's not cover.. The first half of Orpheo is "a piece of the aria "Che farò senza Euridice?" from Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice" and the second half is Six Moons Ago so that's why I didn't include it.

Is 'Rites of Spring' a nod to Stravinsky?

I just discovered Free But Not For Long is not actually unreleased - Bishi released it in 2003 and it's actually called Take Off. www.bishi.co.uk/music2.htmlI don't know where on earth you could buy it though, it's hard enough to find her non-rare albums! Also, listen to 5.30 Coming on that link... notice part of a PW song within it?!!! I wonder if 5.30 Coming was also a collaboration then. Edit: Never mind, i think i was just getting carried away yesterday I thought it had part of Oil Slick in it but i think it's maybe just a coincidence that the rhythms are similar.

Hey, as I can see there's not much going on in this thread anymore, but I thought I can add something to the list. Actually, two things. The first one is this video: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=mCwzMuz-RnUwhere Patrick said he was working on a soundtrack to a Disney movie. By the way, what happened to the soundtrack/movie? Anybody knows anything? (also, I can't understand the name of the song, help) And the other thing is this setlist from Sydney July 7 2007 I'm wondering if anybody has a recording of him singing "Lucy's bitten" or maybe a video? It's obviously an old version of Bitten but I'm curious how it sounded back then. Okay, thank you.

Oh my god Land's End live!!!!! And that was such a lovely version of The Bachelor <3 Anyway, that was The Halcyon he played in the video - i think it was one of the songs that was rumoured to be on Lupercalia a couple of years ago (when it was still "The Conqueror"), but then was never released. I had no idea it was for a Disney soundtrack though!!! I wonder what happened with that. Sorry, i've never come across an early version of Bitten - i'd love it hear it so much though!!! And that looks like the most wonderful setlist - i would do anything to hear Penzance and Bitten live!!! I've never heard of "Black Is Colour", is that a cover version?
