I think Prince April was turned into The Halcyon. Don't know why i think so, probably because of lyrics.

Or maybe it will fit some new album conception, but anyway it's a great song and i hope to hear it someday.
According to the topic. Just rewatched Journal Chapter 4 and realized that there's two unreleased tracks - one instrumental and another one Patrick playing with Victoria on piano + violin. And instrumental track is ADDICTIVE. I want it as a b-side a soon as it possible..

I just downloaded recordings from the 2008 Tate Modern show and it turns out Orpheo and Six Moons Ago are the same song! Is Orpheo the official title then? This is the show I just downloaded: www.mediafire.com/?milydkgqjl0And this is Six Moons Ago which I downloaded ages ago: www.mediafire.com/?6xnrmz0mm9d(You can't hear it properly without headphones btw) Oh there's also a song in there called Total Eclipse which turned out to be an early version of Damaris Edit: I just found this: "Orpheo starts out with the a piece of the aria "Che farò senza Euridice?" from Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and the second part is indeed Six Moons Ago." So is that where the Orpheo title comes from then... and Six Moons Ago is the name of the song? (The version I already had starts off with peacock noises instead of the aria)

Oh right... never mind that! It did have bits of Damaris in it though so I thought it must be an early version of Damaris cos I'd never heard Total Eclipse.

OOOH I like this thread, it makes me feel like I actually KNOW something.
Great to finally hear ‘Six Moons Ago’ – I’d only ever heard it mentioned as a title and just really feel like I HAVE to listen to everything he’s ever written (impossible task really)
And ‘The Halcyon’ I really love that, it’s kinda sad it was shelved back in time, but it didn’t really fit with much else, in my opinion. I can kinda see why it wasn’t released. I really liked ‘Brother John’ too (Is it just ‘Frera Jaques’ in English?)
I’ve never even heard of ‘Brutality’ ‘Identity’ ‘Nocturne’ have these ever been recorded? And wasn’t ‘Wild Life’ just him messing around writing a dance song? I think I remember someone saying he was going to release these dance songs under a different name or something?
I thought ‘Treasure Trail’ was an evolution/precursor to ‘Blackbird’ or did he just play them together, like he did with ‘Bringing Sexy Back’? Patrick has this habit of changing things; playing them different each time, I guess it’s the evolution of the music but it can be confusing (like when I tried to transcribe the ‘Blackbird’ lyrics.*)
I have ‘The Tower’ but I don’t think it grew into ‘Theseus’ I think he just re-cycled some parts. I have some other very old mp3 that seems to be an early version of ‘Theseus’
‘Peacock Skies’ is another song I’ve heard OF, but not heard, although, it might have been released on some vinyl I couldn’t buy?
I don’t think I have/have heard of any other songs that aren’t mentioned here.
* = if needed I can share these, ie, start a thread or PM them, whatever. Unless someone beat me to it, that is.

Me too, i'm attempting to get every song he's ever written on my ipod!!! I have Identity, I got it from the Secret Garden site: patrickssecretgarden.awardspace.com/audio.htmlOh, I just found a video of it on youtube and it turns out it's a Poly Styrene cover, I feel very stupid for not realising after what he says at the start!!! Em... I don't really like the original version much Anyway here's the video: Peacock Skies was released on the Damaris EP, it's on itunes. Treasure Trail has the "do you really wanna know what's going on inside of me" line from Blackbird and the bassline of Queen Isabella (which is also on the Damaris EP if you haven't heard it), so maybe he just recycled bits of it? I'd never heard of Brutality either, is it actually a song? Brother John isn't Frere Jaques in English I don't think, but there's bits of Frere Jacques in it. I'm sure I remember Nocturne being one of the songs that was rumoured to be on The Conqueror (when that was still the title). There's a video on youtube that's apparently Nocturne, Treasure Trail and Vulture. There's the last 2 seconds of a song then it's Treasure Trail then Vulture so i'm guessing that's the ending of Nocturne. Here's the video (but it's literally only about 4 seconds of that song) As far as I know there aren't any other recordings of Nocturne.

Oh also, I'd like Blackbird lyrics I adore that song and there's a few bits I can't make out.

If Nocturn is the song on that video, then I have heard it, but, um, not much to go on. How on earth did I not know there were shows/audio on the Secret Garden site? I seemed to think it was wallpapers or something, I feel ashamed of being so underestimating now! I have to listen to EVERYTHING, but tomorrow when I have more time. The Blackbird lyrics are a bit unfinished but I’ll PM you what I can.

^ So do I! There was a rumour that he was recording it, but I think that was just someone reading a really old interview and he meant ‘Magpie’ instead, anyway. But maybe, one day?

I remember him saying somewhere he wasn't going to record it, it would just be like Beastiality and Midnight and never be released I would love all three of those songs to be released though... maybe one day... Found the quote: "I miss that song, I think it will join the ranks of a classic live moment never to be released, alongside Bestiality and Midnight (the one you all call abolish confusion!!) But you never know, the blackbird may one day be resurrected, but not for now."

I have to listen to EVERYTHING, but tomorrow when I have more time. If I wasn't so damned lazy, unorganised and constantly swamped with other things that need doing, that site would be updated with a bunch of new things and maybe it wouldn't look like a total mess. If there are any requests or suggestions, feel free to pm me and let me know. /t

This thread is neat. It gives me ideas of some things to look up! I have ‘The Tower’ but I don’t think it grew into ‘Theseus’ I think he just re-cycled some parts. I have some other very old mp3 that seems to be an early version of ‘Theseus’ "The Tower" grew into "Thickets", just like "Barghest" grew into "Oblivion". ^_^ The lyrics changed for both, though. If we count unreleased VERSIONS of songs in this thread, I was kind of sad about the removal of the mythological references from the lyrics of Oblivion ("the clicking gets faster" => "and now faster") and Theseus ("So once you've killed the minotaur" => "So now you found what you were looking for"). I kind of wish he'd kept those in. And back to "The Tower", I find it really interesting that he started off asking "William, where is my tower?" (Which was dropped before it became "Thickets".) Wasn't that released before anyone knew about who he was actually talking about there? I remember wondering who William was when I heard it, but I digress. The Days is another song that had really different lyrics when it was in its infant stages, which leads me to an actual contribution: Does anyone else wonder what it would have been like if No Ghosts had come to be? An entire soundtrack by Patrick? I think it would have been my favourite movie, just for the eargasms. I wonder if he finished any songs beside The Days for it before the project got canned...
