So, this bonus disc that comes along side Patrick's 5th album is going to feature what exactly? New songs? Demos? Instrumentals?
here's what the official store says about it.
"'Lemuralia' bonus disc featuring previously unreleased audio
You will be able to hear some of the album tracks in their demo stages and various sonic experiments, collaborations and sketches that never made it to the final cut of Lupercalia. Straight from the heart of Patrick's home studio and dusty depths of the Lupercalia tapes and project hard drives.
* Lemuralia 'audio behind the scenes' disc companion to Lupercalia"
Seems kind of loaded right? does anyone havea tracklist or know more specifically what songs might be on here? and speculate on who the collaboration might be with.... Patty Smith?
And ok, what is a Lemuralia... I secretly hope it's the festival of the lemur!
and apologies in advance if this topic has already been brought up.

Presumably the collaboration is with Groove Armada or/and Tilda Swinton as they were suppose to be on 'The Conqueror' before it was scrapped.

Not much new, but hopefully okay versions of those tracks. Wonder what Oil Slick is... /t

The 'William' Remix should be nice. It is a wonderful song, it is a shame it is so short.

I had a little listen to the first couple of tracks today, I really enjoyed hearing the different versions of songs in their demo processes. You can hear how they evolved and the extended 'William' is brilliant. However, I want to give it my full attention so i'm going to give it a proper listen when I get some free time tomorrow. I'm back listening to Lupercalia at the moment

It sounds wonderful! I am looking forward to recieving my copy. I am cannot wait to hear the extended 'William' track as it is sadly so short on Lupercalia.

It's funny - before I received it, I was most looking forward to Oil Slick, and was less looking forward to the mixes. Now that I've listened to it, Oil Slick is probably my least favourite on the EP, and I love the rest. Go figure.

Oil Slick is simply pretension - nothing more - if it sounds like Crystal Castles then Mozart sounds like Bach...

I do agree; I think Oil Slick sounds as if he's trying too hard to be avant-garde. And he probably is - if it was for his composition degree, he probably wasn't settled into making music and was over analysing things.

Because Patrick said the track was from a 'symphony', I was expecting a clarinet section or something along those lines. Sadly disappointed. It does remind me a little of 'Volcano Radio' though.

Aw, I quite like Oil Slick. Reminds me of musique concrète a bit, which doesn't seem out of sorts considering how much sampling he's done of ambient noise and the like on earlier albums.

Ok, so finally my copy of Lupercalia and Lumeralia arrives, and I want to weight in on the tracks on this companion piece as well...
William (Wolf Extended Paris Mix) Nice instrumentation, but I was thinking there would be more lyrics. It felt like the same song but with a longer outro. Still nice, and the arabic vocals were wonderful here.
The Days (Original Piano Sketch Vienna 2006) Yes sketchy for sure, but it made for a great song on the album. This seems a bit different from the album version so it is certainly nice to hear a variation of a great song, and as an instrumental no less.
The Falcons (Wolf Opus 3 And Orchestra Remix) Love it. A stripped down version of the album track, with wonderful piano. I may even like it a bit better.
Oil Slick This would of made a great middle track on The Bachelor, it just suits the mood of that album more than this one. Reminds me of something like Secret Garden or Jacob's Ladder.
Armistice (Glass Harmonica, Cristal Bachet, Ondes Martenot And Vocal Mix) sure thing... It's fine, but it gives me the same feeling as the album version. I guess i'll have to listen to both to see how they differ but to these ears they felt the same song. Still its a nice song.
Slow Motion (Orchestral Instrumental Mix) Love it... want to sing along with it.
Sing (Acapella Mix) Is this different from the one on the single. I have a live version of this that soeone here posted. I do like the live version better than this, but I like how intracate this version is and how the chorus vocals are timed. Reminds me very much of that Bjork album that was comprised mainly of human voices. Certainly neat, but I am not in love with this version of the song.
Ok overall 7/10... the instrumental Slow Motion and stripped version of The Falcons make it a companion piece i'm proud to own.
