That sounds so amazing!!! I've never heard Get Lost live, did he play the theremin? (I have a theremin obsession, i wish i was talented enough to play one )

no, he didn't, but he played the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer <3 but he played Get Lost on the ukulele if I remember rightly... we saw Gwendoline before the show and she asked us were the backstage entrance was. we were all like: wohooo! is she going to get on stage for Damaris??? then Patrick played Damaris - no Gwendoline...then he prepared himself for Theseus and they put 2 chairs on stage ;D happy faces all over the place! sadly enough the falcon which Gwen borrowed as an accessoire for her stage outfit broke his neck over the goodbye hugs from Patrick when she left the stage...but I guess they can mend it ;D god I will never forget til the day I die how Patrick sang "Veeer-traauu-eeen" (Vertrauen, german for trust), completely mispronouncing it and playing some cords on the harp...and then telling us he won't play that tonight and "that's not quite it, is it? you pronounce it differently." bless him! ;D but he can say "mein Gott!" (dear lord) "vielen Dank!" (thank you very much...he used to say vielen Danke <3 haha ;D ) and "auf Wiedersehen!" (goodbye) quite well now...we laughed so much that evening...

yeah that'd be great! oh and we did get together...changed the chorus to "zusammen" (which is german for together ;D ) and walked through the audience while performing...(the costume change before that was hilarious...James pulled the silver shirt over Patrick's head at the left side of the stage while Patrick continued singing ;D ahaha... )

I don't know if you guys noticed it, but Jacques Brel is played MASSIVELY on the pa before each show starts. I'm rather curious if it's a specific album or just a random collection of songs

^ haha yesterday he told the whole story...well he was poledancing and him being so tall, he cut his finger on a nail...(he didn't tell that onstage, but someone wasn't too lady to ask ) erm well yes, yesterday was so great! the venue... www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150474354770645&set=a.425113615644.220282.509100644&type=1&theaterit's an old movie theatre...the photo was taken from the upper ballustrade. it looked so run down and all like a crypt or sth in a vampire film <3 on the sides of the room they still had some red-velvet cinema chairs...so beautiful... the venue people were kind of unorganized and a bit annoying, because they had no idea themselves how to organize the queue, let alone where we should queue and when to give us a stamp on the arm...etc (there wasn't even a bag control!) resulting in that the m&g people were the first ones to get in...but luckily my friends reserved a place for me in the frontrow <3chinawoman was as great as ever and smiled at us very often...the crowd was great, they even started dancing when she was onstage, unlike the berlin crowd on monday. then the band came down from the right side, down some stairs, and finally patrick arrived in his black coat which looked in this environment really like a dracula cape <3 he had his heels on again (I'm surprised they're still "alive") I don't remember the whole setlist, so I'll only mention the special bits...under the coat he wore his red short jacket...dracula as I said haha ;D his voice was like gold the whole time <3 maybe it was due to the high ceiling also, but it just sounded gorgeous from the first to the last minute...I think he started with Pigeon Song <3 or House, it's all a bit mixed-up in my memory...he played Theseus again. And Gypsie King merged at the end into a new song from the EP...we decided whatever he sang sounded spanish ;D he played Tinderbox (after someones request at the m&g to play it for us <3) Emma and Vicky were in top form, the high ceiling made their playing even more gorgeous than usual...but the best thing was that he premiered Time of Year with the full band <3 it sounds beautiful with the saxophon and all...really christmasy and all, but not cheesy...like he said "that's what you write after too much glühwein" the encore was the usual and he was like "I'm so sorry for those who travelled through germany and have been to so many shows also in the uk that it's always the same encore, but I just love it" and we (yeah well he was looking at us lol) just shook our heads like "nono, we love the encore too!" haha he attempted to step-dance...the only video I've found yet... no foxes for armistice but the silvery shirt and later the white shirt with the falcon on the shoulder...he was very amiable, but didn't chat that much. we waited after the show. ben said hello and told us he'd design some weyo t-shirt next for the ones interested ;D they started mounting the bus one after another...Vicky and Emma have smaller suitcases than the boys by the way...lol that made me smile Patrick came last and stopped to talk to us. he was really nice and all, had the most impractical but best looking and biggest suitcase...flowerprinted fabric with leather applications...I'm sure you all wanted to know that since ages so he tugged his suitcase to the bus and came back to chat with us...we were only four girls, my two friends and me and a friend of my friend we'd just met there...lol the berlin gang... he didn't recognize me, but I was kind enough not to tell him that I'd already attended numerous gigs this year, because he really seemed sorry that he didn't recognize me when I answered him with no, him asking if it had been my first gig lolz we talked about the Falcons video...he loves it best he said...all the snippets used are from a pile of holiday photos he gave the video artist. the Together video will come up in a week or sth, was apparently quite stressing finishing it while on the road. the foxes and the falcon have a cupboard or sth of their own in the tourbus lolz, but no names because they're wild animals...I spare you the story with the toaster and the car of my friend...let's just say we had fun and made him laugh talked about Patti and the gigs he'll be doing with her and I thanked him for bringing Gwen to the Berlin show. he talked about Game of Thrones then "I don't know if you watch programmes like that" me nodding "I do" ;D he was excited to go to Heidelberg, he thinks it's like Disney Land or rather what Disney Land should be lol he was glad to see us and said so <3 d'awww gave us all a hug for goodbye and off he was...and us as well. my last show could need some more this year...

The Tinderbox!!! <3 I am so jealous Aww, his tap-dancing attempt is hilarious ;D Haha Patrick as Dracula That sounds like such an amazing night, it's really nice you got to chat to him. I'm very jealous you got to go to so many shows! (But i shouldn't complain, at least i got to see him and that night was so wonderful ;D) Also, the bit about Patrick's suitcase made me laugh!

^ weren't that many in comparison to - okay me and all my wolfie friends are all a bit nuts when it comes to that...lalala but I guess three real gigs, one festival gig and one dj gig aren't bad for my first year of going to his gigs either...god I need a doctor...or to win the lottery...
anyways, it's for that reason I share the funny and interesting stuff my poor brain can still remember and mingle it with the boring stuff in the attempt to write sth that doesn't sound like half a dozen main clauses ending with exclamation marks glued back to back...hurray!
and yes he was so nice...awww <3 want to hug him again for being so nice once more lolz

I've seen him twice this year and twice in 2009. He always tours when i have uni so i can't make any shows outside Scotland But in the holidays i think i'll try and see him as many times as i can afford (i probably should be saving for my future but oh well). Last year i decided it was only acceptable to go to England for a gig if it was someone who wouldn't come to Scotland (like Owen Pallett and Björk ;D) but now i've decided i don't care - i must see Patrick again! ;D And don't worry i really liked your review It wasn't nearly as long as mine (which was probably full of boring stuff! ) Yeah, he's actually the lovliest person ever - i want another hug from him too!!! ;D

well I like your reviews too...they're funny not boring awww aren't we all lovely haha ;D I'd love to see him perform in the uk once...well from what he told us he'll be touring next year as well, so goodbye attempts to save money we're in inflation times anyway, so saving is pointless haha...always a good excuse.

Thanks I really hope there's another UK tour next year Haha good excuse! Yeah, of course seeing Patrick is more important than saving for our futures! I might try and see him in London or somewhere in the summer (except it will be the Olympics which means London will be even more busy and expensive than normal ) It can be my summer holiday, that's my excuse ;D

good to see i'm still your friend, faye, even after the toaster thing to the tap dancing: he said that magic position was to be his tap dancing album but at some point he realised that changing between the instruments and singing ... additional tap dancing wouldn't quite work
