Well, 1st season is almost over already. Just the thought of it makes me almost cry. Anyone else here who loves this show as much as I do? I'm addicted and can hardly think of anything else atm. Don't know the books yet - I'm in the middle of the second book - so please no spoilers. Just in case if others here watch the show and haven't read the book either. If you don't know the show yet please give it a shot. It is brilliant and quite epic! Spread the word! Anyone else who shares my love for the bastard?

well, I don't like it that much, but I'm addicted to it now as well...(it's your fault! ) I like the plot, although some things are quite foreseeable and some characters horrible stereotypes also: to much shagging in inopportune moments ;D reminded me a bit of The Tudors. but appart from that it's quite enjoyable. I particulary like Peter Dinklage's role as Tyrion Lannister, because they really manage not to make a stereotype of him. And I like Bran and his little sister Arya, finally a series with children having a real role (not only delivering lines for the adults). Oh and I hate the Targaryen lot (yes brother AND sister, they're so horribly annoying!). And yess Jon Snow is a looker ;D I've got a big place in my heart for the outcast

I have all the episodes that have aired recorded but have only watched the first episode I must say I enjoyed it immensely. I hate most of the characters but my fave's after one episode are Ned, Snow + the actual Wolves who are adorable I can't wait to watch more and give a full verdict soon

I can't believe season 1 is already over. I am obsessed and so very much in love with the show, the books, the characters, the cast, the landscapes, the music. I'm in love with everything that has to do with Westeros. Holy shit.

Going to watch episode 7 now. Gosh, I love it. It's really so epic. And I don't care that the characters are (partly) stereotypes, I still think it's awesome. ;D

I don't think anyone is a stereotype...I love how many layers all the characters have and I love how for once a costume drama/medieval series features some pretty fierce female characters. Also it's just been announced that Gwendoline Christie, Patrick's friend also known to us Wolfie's as non-other than Damaris has been cast in Season Two!!! Maybe she can pull some strings and get Patrick to sing a song for the show...I can dream

I don't know, the Queen (What's her name? Caeris?) is a bit stereotypical. My first impression of her went pretty much into the right direction: She seemed arrogant and manipulative to me, a woman who liked her position and did pretty much everything to stay in power. Yet I have to admit that she's fleshed out quite well. Unlike what you might expect because it suits her stereotype, she did not marry King Robert for his position, but rather she was unhappy in her marriage with Robert and must have decided to make the best out of it. (I gathered this from what she told Ned about her wedding night.) Her son Joeffrey is a big stereotype, though. He makes the impression of a spoiled bully. (He reminds me a bit of Draco Malfoy...) But maybe there is a bit more background of him in the books. What I like so much about the story is that there is no real "good" or "bad". Even though the Starks seemed to be "good guys" (for lack of a better term) at first, they also made decisions that seemed wrong to me. Except for Tyrion, I don't really like the Lannisters, but they also fought against the Mad King, so they're not entirely black. And even though I like Daenerys quite much, I'm not sure if I would want her on the Ion Throne. I guess, right now she just has the benefit of the lonely outcast. Okay, rant over. When will Season Two air?! xD

I think season two will air in March 2012. TBH Anyone in that show will do ANYTHING to stay in power at this stage. It is full of such intrigue. I felt sorry for Cersei when she said they lost a young son. I think that made her bitter, that and her lacklustre relationship with Robert, he embarrasses her and she was raised to feel nothing but pride and honour, she's a lannister after all. Yes the boy is a brat but even he has shown some moments early on where he seems to actually care for Sansa....hmm I guess we'll see.
But I just adore it!!

You're prabably right. It's the game of thrones after all. ;D March 2012? That's a long time. Might have to look out for the books to pass the time.

Ugh, I love the books so much and Game of Thrones is so well made that I must love it too. The books are still the thing for me - I'm currently re-reading them, or actually would be if my brother wouldn't be reading The Clash of Kings at the moment. But he has nearly finished it, then I'll continue.
Really, I didn't know that it's possible to love fictional characters as much as I love these. The characters feel so real.
