Schindler's List. Well, like 25 mins of it. Of course, because it was History and we are doing the Holocaust, it was the bit where the women get their hair cut and go in the showers. Not nice for last thing on a Friday. I saw this on TV when I was about 8 years old. I didn' know anything about the historical background so I was really shocked... In school we watch even worse films about the Holocaust but we are allowed to leave the room when it's too hard for us

i showed Gone With The Wind to my uncultured friends. My favorite way to spend 4 hours. Gah i love that film so much so so so much jesusfuck I love you. It's possibly the best film ever made. This afternoon I watched Pan's Labyrinth, yeah I know I said it in another thread, but it was so good. I made very few sarcastic comments which is always a good sign, and I spent most of the film analysing and shouting out the hidden meanings and what I thought was going to happen. The Captain was evil, Ofelia was such an idiot at times but Mercedes was cool, I want to be like her when I grow up!...maybe...

i just watched a documentaryfilmthing about Albert Fish
the film was kind of cheesey and shit, but the subject was utterly facinating, i didn't know anything about the religious side of his story, and it's just so bizzarre that one relatively harmless occurance can have such an enormous impact on the rest of someone's life
i'm tired and gushing, but you get the point, he is one of the most intruiging people i have ever heard about

I saw The Bank Job on saturday, and it was okay, i guess, except for it was really not my type of movie AT ALL and i walked out with 10 minutes to spare. i just saw it. i thought it was good for what it was, a heist film. in fact, it was a lot better than many heist films i've see (oceans 11, etc) cause it was more than that, it was political, too. kind of. but how on earth did you walk out on it?

I watched Into the Wild last night. A bit cheesy in some areas, but overall I really liked it. Amazing scenery and a lot of great acting. I enjoyed how the story was told through the use of flashbacks. Also, I tend to like stories about crazy people who hate society and decide to go brave the wilderness because of it. That's just one of my "things." ALSO Emile Hirsch is hot. I'd recommend it.

i just watched Sitcom, a black-humored, surreal take on the image of the bourgeois, which obviously isn't a new concept in french cinema, but i still found this interesting as a sort of modern attempt inspired by bunuel's 'Discreet Charm...' the name of the movie and the fact that the title is in english despite being a french film basically points to how the director wanted to attack the traditional western household. the film begins with the father of the household bringing home a rat.. and then the picturesque family devolves into this bizarre sexual mess all acting out their inner urges. pretty fun and worth a look. might leave a weird taste in your mouth though.

I watched The Deer Hunter last night, the whole way through for the first time. I cried a lot. Christopher Walken is magnificent (far far better than De Niro); so heartbreaking and stunning to watch, and that's about all I have to say about that.

Really? The creeper is the 'gay' person in it? So...all gay people are freakish monsters who eat other people's body parts?

I think we're getting gay people confused with anthropophagi now If, instead of blood, they have a deadly corrosive - YOU'VE GOT A GAY.

My mum said it was crap. She lied.

I didn't like Atonement. Keira Knightley's character wasn't likeable, therefore I didn't really give a shit. I also have an inbuilt dislike of 'worthy', sweeping, epic romances/period dramas and the like that are so obviously crying out for recognition and Oscars - like, say, The English Patient. It's a little embarrassing watching those kinds of films, for me anyway; just that desperation to be taken seriously and win lots of awards.
