if we're doing the card then i'm... probably but what are we supposed to draw/write and how much would it cost to send around or whatever? Are we sending the whole card around? wouldn't it be a good idea to do something where each person can do something and send it off to somebody who will put it all together? it could save alot of postage costs and stuff, or is that what we are doing already

Oh i'm in for whatever you all agree on! Im not very creative but i reckon i could produce a decent drawing!.Or we could make a blanket we could all do a square each and stich them together! That was a stupid idea hahah No i like this idea! alot of us can do arts and crafts and stuff right so we could maybe do little tie dye squares or needlework or knitting

So the amount of shipping costs depends where you live. I guess it's not too much from England?

question is how big the stuff you send should be? eg 5cm * 5cm or less or more?

couldn't we just make little things, whatever we like, and send them altogether in a cardboard box?

Hello, I've just remembered to come back here to read this thread, 5 pages, woah! But yes, I will be involved, no stopping me. I love the idea of the card, nice and simple, easy to do; I also love the quilt idea! It might be harder for some people to do {yes, including me} but I think it'd be really fun, and possibly/probably more interesting than just making the card? Yay for unhelpful comments. I'm also quite happy to send it to Germany by the way, but this is based on utterly no knowledge of postage costs. Should be okay though.

Hello everyone! Maybe I'm a bit late for this but, after reading the whole thread, I've been thinking for an idea. I like very much the kite gift idea, I think we could save it for next year present, but starting soon to create it so we can have it done for 30/June/2011 I'm also happy for the HUGE birthday card. But I've been thinking that maybe space might be a problem. And a 5cm square of paper won't be enough for everyone, and it should also be a lot of work for ONE person to stick it all together. Why don't we just make individually a picture, draw, personal creation, whatever is it, and then send it to someone who can put it all together in a big beautiful gift box (which can also be created by that person, it could be made of cardboard, plastic, wood...and then painted, glitter on it, pictures...I don't mind whatever!), and finally send it to Patrick?! What do you think about this?! It'd be my first time taking part on the gift, and I'm happy about it

Yeah, that idea or the card, i think, are the best cos everyone can do its own thing and it's also a commun gift...Plus, they can be done on time^^

In case we want to finish the gift till Patrick’s birthday, I’d say our decision has to go between the giant birthday card , the CD or what has been proposed earlier and became more popular now the everybody-does-his-own-little-thing-and-we-collect-them-in-a-box - gift.
Now we have circa 3 weeks left. Not much. There are around ten people till now who would take part in the birthday card but maybe some of them changed their decision now or don’t want to take part anymore but others so..
let’s start a final voting! After you gave your vote, I'll add your name under your choice. I hope these three options are ok for you. If not, you can protest but then make a better suggestion!
The votes for:
[x] The GIANT birthday card
- Rhiflect
[x] The everybody-does-his-own-little-thing-and-we-collect-them-in-a-box – gift
- romi - Rosie The Red - doughnuthole - birdsheart - allison - mambo - tara - louisexpw - Tasha - raindropsonroses - vinyl in mono
[x] The CD
- Anna Peeneighdough. - Teen Wolf

I'd vote for the everybody doing things, because I guess that would please most people? E.g. Anna, you could do your own CD and it could just go in the box?

I wouldn't be able to fill the CD alone I just think it'd be more practical

@ Anna: if it was a dvd I think it was more practical. Personally I have no idea how I should record something... Maybe I would make a video and take the audio track/sound track of it. If it wins, I would try it ..and I still think the cd is agood idea too!

Quite happy to do any of the above! I'm not very good at decisions, but I'm still up for joining in

i vote for the C.D.
but time is tight so whatever works right.
i just like the c.d. idea because the overseas people can just record their well wishes (or whatever) and send em instantly to the person who is gonna compile all this.
