I can't explain why, but Augustine has become one of my all-time favorite songs ever. It's disturbingly jumped to my top-played track on my last.fm, and I still can't entirely figure out why. It's so sad, and yet I'll listen to it even when I'm really happy. Or sad. Or bored. Or anything, really. Ugh.
Anyone else have that problem? I know a lot of people complain about the "is it?" in the middle, but I've always loved how incongruous it is.

I am (currently?) deeply in love with Augustine. gotta love the lyrics, the melody and the moody athmosphere. somehow melancholy works best for me. I'M AN ANGSTY FINN WAH WAH although I must say that my previous favourites have been The Magic Position, Magpie, Bluebells... so I guess my current favourite can change again :B but in the meantime I'm gonna keep listening and playing sweet Augustine, Augustine.

Ah.. So hard to decide.
Welll, firstly The Magic Position because it was the first Patrick Wolf song I ever heard, which counts for something.
The Stars also, because it reminds me of being a really little kid and 'cos I love stars and make too many videos centered around them..
Honorable mentions go to Enchanted and Get Lost.

Well, the first Patick song that I was addicted to (I still like the others especially Boy Like Me) was Tristan. I hummed, I sung it (badly) and I couldn't get it out of my head. But now, I think that Enchanted is my favorite....that or Get Lost.....though, I enjoy Railway House (not on Magic Position, I know).....heck, I like all of 'em! ;D

I feel like the album version of "The Stars" could be much better, having heard live versions.
Does anyone feel like the podcast Augustine is more powerful? And the sound of the uke just seems better; all it's missing is the amazing piano from the album. But in that form it's still one of my favourites on TMP.

Ok, my favorites are now Overture, Accident & Emergency, and Augustine. (Seriously Overture is just too awesome.) They keep on changin' with this album.

The only song on the album I don't like is Magpie, actually it's the only PW song I don't partuclarly like. I really want to like it, I just don't. I think it's too bland and I don't either of their voices in it.
My favourite off TMP has to be The Stars. It's just genius, I first listened to it on my iPod, in the car, speeding across fields and staring out of the window and now when I listen to it that‘s what it reminds me of. That as well as the extra lyrics in the booklet about the grandparents, which he sometimes does live.
The beautiful intro music and the girl/child's voice always fills me with happiness, because I know the song is about to start. And the ‘uplifting strings’/‘electronic noises’ combination reminds me of Paris, especially how they keep stopping and starting and alternating. And especially when it bursts into strings at the end. The lyrics are perfect too. You gotta love it, just for this line: "So now to the one with the never-ending invisible scars... Look up, look up. The Stars!"
I realise this post has turned into an essay on why I like The Stars... I'ts not even my favourite on the album by a very long way - I just got carried away enthusing about it. I love Overture and Bluebells next best, then all the other songs equally (apart from Magpie and the instrumentals (which aren’t really instrumentals)).

Gotta say that the title track is my favourite. I don't usually like these types of happy songs, but there is just something in it, something sexy. It really cheers me up.

this is really difficult, but at the moment i'd probably say "overture". it's just such a terrific album opener.

I was on a train yesterday, and I listened... really listened possibly for the first time... to The Stars, and when it came to 'look up! look up! the stars!' I nearly started crying.
It was strange and beautiful, and now I'd say that The Stars is my favourite from this album.
