hi wolfboard, i'm having a sewing issue (and a few of you must sew, so hopefully someone can help out). whenever i press the foot pedal on my machine and try to sew, the thread starts spinning out of control and flies off the screw. not only is it scary, it's frustrating.
does this sound familiar to anyone?

maybe you're pressing a little too hard and/or the thread is not locked in? have you wound the spool onto a bobbin?

Start with the needle in the fabric by turning the wheel by hand before you start with the foot pedal. Otherwise the thread will go nuts.
(assuming you have everything set up correctly)

^ pretty sure that's what I did a while ago, I only have an antique hand crank one, and yes it just makes a mess haha.

good to hear you're sorted! just make sure you've got the machine properly threaded up and the tension set right, and don't sew too quickly!
