you're the one that's making the assumption that airbrushed=bad. why not just see it as another tool in which to alter the way in which you present yourself?

Mostly because often it's used as a tool to make people (women) look unrealistically 'pretty', is that not widely accepted? Although, i suppose it is another self-alteration thing as well.

Although, i suppose it is another self-alteration thing as well. true, but i think in gaga's case, she invokes so many personas that i just see this as another one that uses photomanipulation. anyway, you don't see images that aren't photomanipulated in the common media these days, whether it's obvious or not. (btw, i'm actually really opposed to photoshopping people to unrealistic standards etc. i'm just defending this case )

Yes, most certainly! What was GaGa the shoot for? I can imagine that she was purposely so airbrushed (so much that I noticed instantly) for a reason, i.e. for part of a 'persona'. Overall, airbrushing sucks in general, but when Gaga does it it's fine

Oh sweet lady GaGa with your face like a cream oval And your nose like a delicious slope of cream And your ears like cream flaps And your teeth like hard shiny pegs of cream

Overall, airbrushing sucks in general, but when Gaga does it it's fine this theory is applicable to so many things i have no idea what it's for, it got posted by one of her fan groups, there's another one, hang on...

They're for Time magazine's 100 most influential people feature.
I don't doubt that she's photoshopped, but I guess I'm not really trained to see it myself. I assume the saturation, brightness/contrast, etc. have been adjusted digitally, because that lighting is so gorgeous. But what makes all of you so certain she's been airbrushed? Her features look the same to me, and if she is airbrushed then why didn't they make her eyes, eyebrows, and mouth symmetrical?
(Exalt to thefutureisdark for quoting Britain's leading cream poet. ;D)

That's true Tara, but I just meant that she seemed a bit enhanced and overly smoothed; it just struck me as odd for Gaga to be looking so commercial!
