Haha well Twilight obvvv.
Er...I don't dislike books that often really. Strongly disliked Robinson Crusoe though.

I always wondered if the amount of people who like Twilight and hate it are the same amount at this point. When you think about it, I think people were obssessed with Harry Potter as much as Twilight back in the day. But I don't think magicians were a fad back then. Like if you notice, there are, like, seven vampire movies being released. They did the same thing with comic books back then..

I'm not overtly keen on Frankenstein... I've just had to read it for my literature coursework, but I'll read anything...

Hah that's funny, I just read Frankenstein the other month for the first time and really really enjoyed it.
That's true, I never thought about the Harry Potter comparison. They're really well-written and easy to engage with though, and the Twilight characters are just so...lacklustre and one-dimensional. Plus JKR's actual writing talent is, well...existent. It's true there's loads of vampire stuff out, but I can't say I've seen it negatively affect Twilight's successors.

NO. NO. I was implying Harry Potter was better. I wanted to secretly do it in a way I wouldn't offend TL fans, because I think there might be a lot on this board.
Edit: actually this happened twice to me today. When I told my teacher that John Trovolta was trying to recreate his character from Pulp Fiction in that new movie From Paris with love. He was like "DONT COMPARE THAT CRAP TO PULP FICTION." and I was like "No, no I was saying PF was much better."

Sorry! I hated it. They're all horrible people and I had no sympathy for them, I hate disliking characters in books. It's just miserable. I thought it was going to be this great love story, even tragic love stories I don't mind, but it's really not. Or I didn't think so anyway. Lots of people do like it, though.

Hrmm, well, I shall attempt to pursue it but I know what you mean, it's pretty tough trying to read a book when you dislike all the characters... I know Catcher in the Rye is a big favourite but it just wasn't my cup of tea, for example...

The Book Thief... if anybody's read it. I've only ever not finished two, maybe three books. This, I just couldn't get engaged with. Sure, when I was reading it I liked it, but I didn't ever want to read it the way I do with most books I read. For a long time after I started reading it I didn't see the plot going anywhere any time soon, so I stopped reading it eventually, maybe a hundred pages in or so. Meh.

The Kite Runner was pretty dire. Like Florence said, I hate disliking characters.
I've always hated LOTR too. Just too dull.

I'm reading that right now, and I was expecting to hate it but I love it! I will say The Lord of the Rings... TERRIBLE. I read about half of the first one and I had no idea what was going on because it was written so terribly so I stopped.
