Because I couldn't find a thread of this already and I know at least a couple of you are fans. If you hate them, I don't really want to know.

I am a bit obsessed with Michael, for the fact I enjoyed it so much when I heard it, and the fact Bookish has covered it.
There are also much more personal matters.
Basically it rules my life.
And I sort of like the Justice remix of one of their songs.
That's the extent of my lis'nins.

I think the last album had two genuienly sublime songs on it, Walk Away and especially Eleanor Put Your Boots On which is so up my musical street I can buy a pack of fags and a loaf of bread from it.
Not really mad on them, but they have their moments and they are one of the better mainstream indie bands of the last four or so years I'd say..

How about them angular guitars, hon? Haha. Yes. I love Michael, the song and the person. Michael Kasparis. I think he probably did work at mono. He does rather get around.

It's the Franz thread we planned, YAY! Anyway, much agree-age with Josh that Eleanor is an AWESOME song. It is probably my favorite from that album, with Outsiders being second. And who doesn't love Michael? Great song. And Darts of Pleasure, oh yes. ICH HEISE SUPER FANTASTISCHE!!!

Franz are pretty okay. Good for dancin'.

First album = Okay. I saw them live. They were nice. I didn't mind it.
Second album = Forgettable. I was working in a record store when it got released, so we had to play it a lot to promote it to the customers, and although I must've heard it over 20 times at least a week, I still can't remember it for the life of me. =/
It's not like I'm a big Franz hater or anything, I just genuinely can't remember a thing.
I really like Darts of Pleasure though. That's a good Franz Ferdinand song. B-sides are usually better than A-sides, although Patrick's recent ones have been dire. =/

"Lindsay Wells" beats all: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky4AKUfFYJ4...funnest song live. . . video doesn't do it justice. I really like Franz. Can't say I listen to them too much, but I am a fan and I saw them live last year (I think it was last year...) and they were awesome. Too bad the crowd was not dancing much, but they were mostly Death Cab fans, and they can be a tad, uh, depressing. Outsiders live is da bomb.

As most people seem to do, I prefer the first record.
Also, they totally ripped Josef K off.

Also, they totally ripped Josef K off. I think it's Orange Juice they ripped off, right down to the fashion sense.. I dunno when will the Juice get the recognition they deserve for being such an amazingly important band?

Yeah, I was thinking whether I should put Josef K or Orange Juice, but then I figured no-one would have heard of Josef K and so I would look very cool.

THEN I WILL SO BE THERE. Maybe. If I do actually end up going on this trip. And if I can convince my aunt to take me to see them... I coulda seen 'em with Death Cab but alas, with my luck, it didn't happen. Andd I need to mention their B-side Wine in the Afternoon because I flippin' love it.
