Casey Stratton is good for MarioKart but not much else.
Don't tell him I said that.

Reviving this thread... I don't know why I started listening to her actually... I think someone on here posted a video of her and I liked her hair. And then someone said she was probably going to play with Patrick at the Palladium so I decided to check out her music. Now I have Drumming Song in my head all the time XD. I really like her music. I like the fact that she uses harps in her music, it's rare (in the music I'm used to listening to) to hear that instrument.
I'm considering seeing her when she comes to Paris in February, has anyone seen her live before?

She sometimes sometimes sometimes annoys me a bit in interviews and stuff. But to be fair she is only answering the questions that have been asked and I suppose she can't help it if she gets made to trot out the same old stories. Music-wise though really really love her. I listen to her album in the shower everyday

New Dog Days video; what do we think?

I didn't watch all of it, but I don't like what I've seen much :/. It's too "unreal"... And makes me think of the Hurricane Drunk video (which isn't on youtube and I don't have the link for it anymore, sorry :/) that has nothing to do with the song. As confusing as the old version was for me, I preferred it to this one.

Re-issuing that song is typical cynical major label BS but I don't really mind cos we get a fantastic video out of it. Love the use of Japanese cultural iconography and the whole use of colour and white space in the aesthetic. A pretty stiriking thing to pop up in the land of the mainstream pop video.

Yeah I adore the Japanesey bits and the robotty moves she does for those sections, but I'm really sick of this theme in her videos now where she basically just shows off her legs and twirls her arms and it all looks so dramatic as if it's part of some epic cheesy film. Ooh I didn't know there was a Hurricane Drunk video, I'll have to hunt that down. I'm also slightly bitter because I did my hair like that for ages and was going to start trying it again, and now people will think I'm just copying

I'm undecided. Her little dancing bits annoy me, and it's just all a bit too pointlessly weird for me. I have no problem with oddity, but this just goes beyond what I would accept, not sure why. Having said that, I love the little bits like at 0:07 & 0:12, because I just find them beautiful, although I'm not sure why. And I like the crazy leg-stomping dance that the drummers do in the big group shots.

I hate the new video. It's crap and boring, and she looks silly, and the old video was PERFECT for the song.

I think the new video's more unique than the old one, which is pretty typical folksly indie video fare, this one mashes more different aesthetics up, bit more adventurous.
She actually looks too weird to be fit in it which is, however a negative point.
WHY OH WHY.. reissue that song though? Almost glad cos I thought Hurricane Drunk was coming out as a single and that's the one out and out crap song on the album. It sounds like Daniel Beddingfield.

I'm trying to watch it, but I just think of Linda LaHughes when I look at her hair. And to be honest, this is the song I skip on the album.

THANKS FOR RUINING ALL MY DEVIANT FLO.WELCH RELATED GROT FANTASIES ANNA.
Something about her makes me smoke hotter than July.. jeez. It's the free spirtedness, the slightly ditzy "head in the clouds" poshness, the whole superhero outfited goddess thing. Man, I'm just gonnne.

Wow, I'm all for odd looking faces then!
I can see what you mean actually, in the Kiss With A Fist video aggges back when she's not ginger and as done up as she usually is now she's pretty typical/normal looking. I think it's a lot more than her looks that make her so darn "holy shit!" levels of attractive.
I liked the tunes before I realised that btw, honest guv!

Oh no she's beautiful! Just her hair in that particular video is a tad Lindary.

Her face in Kiss With A Fist (and hair) makes her look EXACTLY like my old psychology teacher, except she was very small and Scottish and scary.
AHA I see the picture similarity. What is it you don't like about that song Anna? (Or to be pedantic maybe not that you dislike it, but what makes you skip it?)

Just bores me. The tracks Drumming Song onwards are what I listen to mostly (And Howl.)
