The beginning part with the two of them slowly pacing in time to the music was brilliant, and then when they were dancing and it went slow motion a bit, I thought it was amazing. I just wish more had been done like this.

NO BUT IT'S ABOUT A MAN AND A WOMAN and it makes me sadder than damaris ever could SHEESH hmm disappointingly there is ZERO hungarian spoken in that video although it is filmed in Budapest. ahh the pinnacle of hungarian popular music. I bet it made it higher on the hungarian charts that damaris will ever be here as well.

my thoughts exactly! the guardian's player did something really weird to the video, it was a shame.

2.) Patrick shouldn't look prettier than the subject matter (Damaris), but sometimes he does. Hah, something I thought about too when I watched the video, that he looked prettier than the woman.

I think the biggest complaint from me is the poor editing job - which can make or break a video no matter how awesome the song/idea is. If it had been put together a bit better I don't think it'd have felt as awkward. I think that's why I like the Vulture video so much. The cuts complemented the rhythm of the song quite well. This is how I feel about it. Vulture had awesome editing and cinematography, so did Hard Times in a lot of areas, and that's what really made those videos good. Honestly I'm quite disappointed by this one, it could have been way better - I found it pretty boring actually, and boring definitely doesn't capture the song. I did like the idea of those dancing-y parts, though, and I'm jealous of that girls amazing tallness.

What I liked best was the lighting. I think it complimented the setting and mood well. I also liked the unison movements. (And yes. Volta!)
I get what everyone's saying about the jarring cuts, but I also understand why they're there, too. "Damaris" is so... slow, and overall rhythmically even (ish) there's an urge to do something more jolting to contrast. Some of the cuts I liked, and some I thought were a bit much.
I will have to admit that I have never liked a Patrick music video, except for "Tristan". But for some reason, I like this one. Also, when I first heard "Damaris" I hated it. It's seriously only in the past week it's grown on me. And this... this I like.
Overall, it has its weak points but it does suit the song.

The editing was poor as was the cinematography and the narrative. I get there is no money for these things and that's probably why its not up to scratch, so im cool with it, but im in no way going to pretend that it was good or that i enjoyed watching it. Into room 101 it goes EDIT: Just read back what I wrote and I stand by it but will just add that though i put it in room 101 I don't hate it, its just when I was watching it I couldn't stop laughing and/or cringing. It was just bad.

haha, a bit cringey, tbh. I'm a former film student myself and I used to hate this kind of stuff when I was art school.
I'm used to overly-romantic, self-indulgent Patrick vids, and am still a massive fan of the beautiful Wind In The Wires video, but I don't think that not seeing this one as being on a par means that people are less romantic.
