ahaha being a non-uk fan I'll admit that's what I think! I've never been, though.. I feel maybe I shouldn't to avoid ruining the fantasy

cornwall and devon are lovely, i'll say that much. but as with anywhere ever, there are some shitholes. teignmouth isn't particularly special by any means. no offence to anyone that lives there.

Me, as a non-uk fan can say about Cornwall the following: the first time I 'met' Cornwall in kitschy Rosamunde Pilcher films. They are actually kitsch. nothing but kitsch. pure kitsch. the essence of kitsch. Cornwall was already incredibly popular with the Germans before WITW was released . Read this: "Her books are especially popular in Germany owing to the fact that the national TV station ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) has produced more than 70 of her stories for TV. These TV films are some of the most popular programmes on ZDF. Both Pilcher and ZDF programme director Dr. Claus Beling were awarded the British Tourism Award in 2002 for the positive effect the books and the TV versions had on tourism."

Having lived in Cornwall for 15 long years, I don't think it's that amazing. I don't walk much, I don't go in the sea much in Summer. I just like... go into town. And I don't like pasties. I'm not a very Cornish Cornishfolk. XD I do agree, however, that some places are really beautiful, but they're usually the places nobody else knows about.

o wow this thread was a hilarious read all the way long... okay I'm still relatively new to the pw fanbase, but I still have to agree to so many stereotypes...it's kinda scary first show I ever went to (this year): Cologne. Gebäude 9. dozens of pw look-alikes (at various points of his career of course; mainly boys...but one or two girls too O.o) glitter...very trending...at least among us. rainbows...o yeah... rainbowcake lol flowers...don't know maybe it's a German fan thing, but there are always girls wearing flower print dresses, skirts, jewelery, accessoires, etc. (including me lol) feminism...clichée but somehow true a bit of a goth touch here and there...black when you don't go for the colourful stuff you're either the hipster fangirl or the loner with a past, unhappy childhood bla etc pp a feeling of protectiveness for the wolf (eg correcting stupid interviewers/journalists via internet haha ) might be a non-UK thing... ridiculous amounts of knowledge about everything pw and pw-related...bling bling, shoes, favourite *insert whatever you like*, knowing every b-side ever released by heart, having seen even the most rare and sometimes completely pointless picture/video, knowing who his friends are and what they're doing, etc.... oh wow that's quite a lot...

Haha, well I love glitter and rainbows, have a feeling of protectiveness for the Wolf and ridiculous amounts of knowledge about everything PW related I think most people who like PW tend to be creative people, like musicians or artists (I don't necessarily mean professional, even if it's just a hobby). I'm a (not very artistic) chemistry student btw Also, gay guys

yeah straight guys would fear to admit that they like his music I guess, because people instantly think: "oh he likes PW - has to be gay" ah yes stereotyping... I've seen some straight guys in Cologne though...but they were most definitly outnumbered lol

One of the Toronto Wolf fans is a straight guy... No shame from him haha.
As horrible as it sounds discussing stereotypes on a PW board, I think these stereotypes aren't quite as apparent now that Patrick's fanbase has widened.

Whenever discussing stereotypes I fear falling into the stereotyping of the others myself in order to assess how iam being stereotyped Hope I made some sense. Im saying this because, even though I might not know that many Patrick Wolf hardcore fans I do know some people who like him and some people who dont and mostly people that never even heard of him. So for most of them I think there is no stereotype at all just because they dont even know the artist. Those who do know him might not be aware of his sexual orientation and lots of things... I guess Im saying its funny to read this thread cause Im learning something I never thought or knew about, how PW fans are... I guess so far so good rainbows, glitter and good hair style whats not to like ?

When people start trying to detemine his natural hair colour by looking at his pubes it's GONE TOO FAR. ..... hahahaha. I laughed so hard! Guess, most of his fans are kind of cute as the wolf himself, especially these days (protective feelings...jajajaja). Fans usually stuff their brains with the most unnecessary knowlegde about their beloved subject you can think of. So I can identify with this. Plus I totally agree with hipsters and outcasts who are mostly weird (I mean, they like PW music!) and either very dark, golden, glittery or colored. And Britain. And THE SEA (especially the sea is like my second home, so much holiday out there since I was a kid, and that's why I really adore Patrick's songs about it)

Oh god i love this thread but i just found some of my old posts, from my other account and they are awful - what was I on about? I can imagine everyone thought I was so strange. Oh dear haha, i think I was at an age where the wierdness-filter was just turned off in my brain. I still think I fit into quite a few Patrick wolf stereotypes though... although my hair isn't red anymore and i don't study his erm.. armpit hair.

^You see i was going for a Rihanna red but i realised if i got the super bright red i'd look like a tit. So i got the brightest red i could with making me look stupid with is like this colour: (thats not me) and that is apparently patrick wolfy accoring to my mates... Talking of creepy obsessive fandom, i just remembered a very shameful PW-related object i own... I don't want to say (But don't worry, it's not an armpit hair!!! ) a stalker-ish picture of him walking through his house? Please dont say you have PW underwear?!
