Just last night I read that a demo for Teignmouth of WITW had been given a limited release by Patrick. I just can't beleive how amazing it is...Teignmouth has always been one of my favorite songs from my favorite album, and I find myself blown away again.
The lyrics are different, and a bit less polished at spots, but they make it an entirely different song - the refrain "listen to wind I will be calling you home' almost sounds like Penzance, and instead of just birds, he sees black gulls over the water, moving like shadows and haunting his dreams! His ethereal vocals in the background while he sings the part about the birds is amazing, and the different instrumentation is so wonderfully chaotic and lush, as opposed to the radio static dominating in the album version. It is also nearly a minute longer, with some weird radio voices at the end.
I love this, and I'm so glad he released another bit from the WITW era. If he is hording any more, I hope we get to hear it.

There are bound to be loads of unreleased demos. This demo, for example, was from the Lycanthropy era, so there must be some from the WITW era! Definitely agreed; I always listen to this demo when I'm on the train to Teignmouth, ha ha x

You guys should all check the song out. I noticed last night that the instrumentation on this Teignmouth demo blends in pretty well with Patrick Wolf's instrumental piece 'Night Train,' (which I also love) so it may be they were originally going to be sequential on some album.
