pft its hollywood teenie bollocks with delusions of profoundity. Overrated yes, but not without its merits- however! I pales in comparison with more sophisticated works by David Lynch, who is appears quite obviosu they are attempting to imitate... Go watch Mullholland Drive and then come back and say Donnie Darko is "a good cult classic" i've seen mullholland drive, and i will still say that donnie darko is a good cult classic

I cannot stop listening to 'Overture'. Eargasms- I think so. Yessir, Indeed. I love the way the drums have been multi-tracked (do I mean "multi-tracked"? Where the music has been mixed so that you hear different parts in each speaker?) Anyway. I love the way the drums alternate from speaker to speaker in the intro. Kind of like the galloping horse in The Libertine. Sounds like "Horse gallops in one ear... and out the other." Overture= love

My brother said it sounds like the Rocky theme. Completely destroyed the song for me

My sister says some of his songs sound like classical stuff at times. I've explained he was trained in some of that before leaving.

I like Donnie Darko, it's a well made and clever film. Maybe not as good as some others, or as the impression given by the hype, but that is no fault of the film makers. Judged entirely on it's own merit it think it's an entertaining and thoughtful piece of cinema.
Anyway, besides the point, hehe. Overture, i love, classic patrick wolf - striking, powerful and clever. The Magic Position, i have to admit, i'm not so enamoured with. It just jars with me, for some reason, feels out of place on the album almost. Accident and Emergency was the same, there was just something indefinable about them that i didn't like so much. Still, even at his worst Patricks always brilliant ;D

People who think Gary Jules' version of Mad World is better than TFF's are mental.
