Maybe you should send a bandstocks message to check?
I don't think it's got anything to do with previous events, from the email it seemed like it's open to all bandstock holders. Same with Koko, that was a presale, not really an event. I think it's probably just a problem with some people's email or something? Especially seeing as people didn't get the message with information about The Bachelor.

in the email i got forwarded, it says numbers are limited so they're working on a first come/first served basis. by not emailing it to all shareholders, i suppose they cut out some of the rush for booking times to go to the session? haha.

The message doesn't feel like it's a private event. Did you check your bandstocks inbox? Because I think that's where they sent it. The mail is just a copy.

yeah, i checked a few times throughout today and just now and still nothing. eta: god, i sound like a right whinger. i'm really okay with this. y'all go and come back with great reports about the session to whip the rest of us that couldn't go into a frenzy, i look forward to it and i will look forward to the album even more than i am already.

I thought I sounded whiney too, I don't mind that I can't go either. I'm actually really excited for the album, the more time I spend sitting here reading things the more excited I get! So much anticipation. (I accidentally just added someone pretending to be patrick wolf on facebook, I wanted to find a music page or something and I wasn't really looking at what I was doing, until it was too late... Ugh, now I can't un-add them) I know that's irrelevant, but I needed to rant somewhere

Agreed with you all - the anticipation's probably one of my favourite parts at the moment. Although, I still WOULD like to go, but London's a long way away from me ! >< xxxx

The great thing about Bandstocks is that you get a copy of the album (albeit digital) so eventually we will all hear it! Right? I think that's how it is...
This is kind of funny because it's almost like what that poster had said about having it played in a movie theatre and everyone going to listen to it. And everyone shot him/her down *shakes head* ... This does seem a bit odd, though...obviously I don't know specifics but is it just going to be in a place with a good soundsystem?
I'm really more of a "listen to the first song, then maybe the next, and then worry that even though you like the first two songs maybe the rest will be crap so you listen to the first two again a few times and then maybe skip to track 7 and then take a break and maybe later go back and sit and rip the band-aid off and listen to the whole thing front to back" type of album listener. When it's an album I've really been anticipating, anyway.

it's quite common, but usually it's mainly done for journalists.

I got 'the message'. I reckon I will go because there will probs be some nice listening equipment there. A lot better than what I have anyway. Plus I'm seeing him in Gloucester 4 days after so it will be nice to know some of the songs a little better. I am just wondering whether I can drag a friend along with me... she has a bandstock but didn't get the email.

You'll have to check the message and if it doesn't say there, email bandstocks I guess. I know the last event was one person only but that was probably because of the size of the venue so I don't know...

To be honest though, if it's in like a big room with loads of other people, I wouldn't be able to experience it like I would for the first time alone. You know when you find a stand out song (although I think the whole album might be a bit like that from what we've heard !!) and you don't know whether to cry or boogie on down ? Yeah. xxx

Although I am faaar away, I stand with the others wanting to hear an album alone. Other than popping the CD in, part of the excitement is opening the booklet and taking in each image as you listen, following along with the lyrics. Yeah, what they said. Although I bet if I was invited, I might give in and ruin it. I have hardly a willpower. The above is just ideal.
