Yeah, I like the bell too. Not so much the horse/human hair collar-ish thing from Tristan though.
Come to think of it, if there's such an established Japanese fanbase that they can organize meet-and-greets, why are there no Japanese fans (that I've seen) on the board?

there are two!
Maybe the Japanese are just more organised? In regards to meet and greets! haha
I think if Toronto had organised meet and greets then I don't think we would ever get the chance to meet Patrick Wolf.

The gig sounds like fun. The pictures are nice too, I'm glad you got to meet him! I'm very fond of his glittery suspenders, but I think the wig might need to be dyed blue again.
Also: What do you mean Toronto doesn't have meet-and-greets? I'm pretty sure both times he's been here in the last year we've met him afterwards. We just have to wait in alley-ways or with men who ask us if we've got faith in satan and say we look like murder scenes. (and jackman MUST bring his lightsaber).

haha I meant, if it was an organised meet and greet in the actual venue, that we would never have had the chance to meet him because it's more of a selective thing as opposed to who has the patience to wait for him after the gig, or if he'll be able to hang out after the show instead of going straight to the next city.

Patrick in Japan would be amazing! How did the fans receive him? I find Japanese audiences are always extremes - they are either completely silent, arms at their sides but obviously into it, or completely crazy with arms flailing, singing along. It was kind of in-between actually, people were dancing to TMP, A & E etc. but very silent (in a nice & respectful, not disinterested way) for the older tracks which most of the crowd didn't recognise - which isn't a huge surprise considering, as Patrick himself said, he only sold about 3 copies of Lycanthropy in Japan. Generally though I'd definitely say Japanese audiences are kind of restrained. Come to think of it, if there's such an established Japanese fanbase that they can organize meet-and-greets, why are there no Japanese fans (that I've seen) on the board? There isn't much of an established fanbase over here. It was a pretty small venue (although unusually for a Western band playing in Japan most of the audience was Japanese, and hardly any foreigners were there), and the meet and greet was just a PR thing to sell more copies of the album (apparently you got a leaflet when you bought the album which you had to send off to get a chance of getting into the meet & greet). There were only about 20 people for the meet & greet in the end.

Hi and thanks for starting this thread, Jet!
I can see from your pictures that you were on the right side, where people were dancing! (Quote for the fans: "I don't speak japanese, I don't speak english, I speack DANZING!").
I was on the left of the crowd and it was weird because it seems the crowd was separated in half, at right the crazy young people talking with Patrick about her hair and how is so kawaiii, and the left was... paraplegic?! I don't know, maybe the first row was moving but after the columns (yes, they had columns! And because of that I missed the time when Patrick throws... well, I missed it so I don't even know what he throws!), so after the columns, the crowd was static. Maybe the influence of the bar just behing us?!
So I was on the left, and I felt bad when he came next to us and climbed on the fence, because we really had little reaction. (Except for a blond girl who shake herself (not even english?) as much as she could).
...What else? He sang "Gimme more", and I am not sure but I think he did something from a song of M.I.A. (the "woohoo" ?!). He talked about the lady in Mary Poppins before he started the "Pigeon Song". He also talked about a lot of things but thanks to my super high english level I only got "winter", "christmas", "halloween", "fireworks", and something about 15 minutes, so ask Jet if you want to know more, aha!
And that's all because I left before the meet-and-greet. ps/ I had a hard time to find my way before the show, and my Ipod shuffle was constantly mocking me by playing "Get Lost" :/
EDIT: I am too slow so my message came after Jet's... It seems like we have different opinion on the crowd so maybe I had too much drinks?!

No you're right - the left side really did look kind of dead. There were a few people dancing near-ish to me, but yeah aside from TMP/AandE/Tristan, and maybe Get Lost, the crowd wasn't very energetic at all. Which is a shame cos songs like Bloodbeat and A Boy Like Me are awesome for dancing. But then I've seen similar audiences at standing Patrick gigs in England, which is why I really don't mind (and maybe even prefer) the sitting ones like Union Chapel, Bloomsbury etc. And for those wondering what I said to Patrick after the show - amongst other things, basically I told him off for never having played Godrevy Point in the 3 years I've been going to his gigs... but then he said he might break it out in December so I'm incredibly jealous of everyone going to the Shepherds Bush gig lol. ps/ I had a hard time to find my way before the show, and my Ipod shuffle was constantly mocking me by playing "Get Lost" :/ lol me too, thanks to the useless directions on the website. But then I asked one of the police-box guys and he pointed me in the right direction enthusiastically - they're surprisingly helpful...

good god! his hair! amazing! I have never seen anything brighter in my life. I don't think I could ever stand a sitting down (I mean wouldn't be able to deal with) Patrick wolf concert!....Although I have only been to one! Didn't you want to just get up and dance? Has he been to Japan before? Ifoudn some clips on youtube of it! you can hear/see the crowds reaction on here www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6pL5uuD9IUwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Al2AMFN4vCYThere are a lot more smaller clips of it aswell if you type in "Patrick Wolf" in the search box and sort by "Recently added" they are all pretty much just tagged "Patrick Wolf" with no description.

^ Cool map. I had no idea Womb was so close, evidently I know nothing about the club scene here lol...
Anyone know how to shrink a 210MB video into something more YouTube-friendly? I have most of A Boy Like Me in the clip...

I usually get so overwhelmed with all the posts I almost always miss a few (note to self: Don't ask silly questions) No problem I saw them yesterday and had no idea where the vaguely labelled clips came from. It looked like fun! ;D

I was under the impression that he had been in Japan before, during the summer for a festival? In and around the same time he was in Australia.

I have most of A Boy Like Me in the clip... You could put the clip into windows movie maker (assuming you have a PC) You can choose what size you want it to come out as at the end If you want to keep the quality, you could probably split the video in half in movie maker, so the compression doesn't completely ruin its quality.

He played in Japan just a couple days before my vacation there. I was sad.
