i think i might try and go to both though i feel sorry for the people that can only make the first one and tried to hard to as well and also for patrick because all the fun we've been planning is going to be at the Grand Finale, and at the 'Grandest' Finale there'll still be fun, but not at much, and surely you'd want the last show you do for a while to be the best one dear oh dear

This may be an ignorant question, but.... This "grand finale", it's not going to be Patrick's last performance ever, right? It will just be his last show of the year, before he releases his new album? Because when I saw him live in Sydney a couple of weeks ago he mentioned something about wanting to do some shows in NZ on his next tour. can anyone clarify this and put me at ease?

And thankyou. I shall make it my farewell, and it will be special to me like i thought it would be in the first place omg. Im so lame i even dreamt i was ranting to my mum about this whilst putting shower gel my hair :S

Of course its not his last show ever! And yes he will tour his next album! Do not fret, it is judt the final show of this album (or thats what we were lead to belive! lol). I am a bit pissed off Ah well I will cope!

Couple of points:
My mate works for the tour promoter, didn't know that this was happening, the agent (or someone else whose job is essential but whose job title I can't remember) hasn't been asked to work it, the gig venue is already booked out to someone else, and to sell a 2500 capacity out in five weeks seems more than a little ambitious. As some funny woman who drank out of odd sized bottles once said, curiouser and curiouser.
I'll still go on the 20th with just 18 of my closest friends but I don't know that I'll go to the Friday show. It'll be bloody manic for transport out of London as it's the last day most people will be working before christmas so they'll all be travelling home with sharp pointy parcels and bad tempers from the hangovers that haven't even started to hit.

I still don't understand why people think the 20th won't be as special

The 19th will be very special for me and my friends. We still have plans for a little mischief and mayhem. My mate is finding out whether I'll get kicked out of the venue for chucking ******* [surprise removed]. This gig will be just as wonderful for us lot because of who we're spending it with and because we all have a love of Patrick's music and performance in common.
I really would have been less inclined to go on the 20th due to the reasons listed above. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll end up not wanting to miss out and will end up going twice anyway!

I still don't understand why people think the 20th won't be as special I know! Nights are only as special as you make them, and the 20th has everybody going to it all decked out in costume and glitter and such. I can't go to either of them, you guys, so make sure you take lots of pictures and recordings of both nights.

I still don't understand why people think the 20th won't be as special I think it might be because it won't have that 'last night of the tour' feeling to it. Well, it will, because obvs ours is going to be better, but literally i won't be.

Well maybe it is my mindset and I am probably alone in this feeling, but the people make shows great for me. And i'm going to be with the people I adore on the 20th so that in itself makes it more special.

I'm really quite dissapointed in people's reactions to this. I am too. :-\ It makes me kind of sad, actually, to see everyone so pissed off about it. All the same, I am still stuck in America, so this really doesn't effect me, other than making me more depressed.

Surely you can understand why some of us are a little put out about it. I'm not really angry or anything.

Surely you can understand why some of us are a little put out about it. I'm not really angry or anything. I do understand, I just think it's a little bit... selfish? I'm not trying to be mean, but it baffles me how people can say "I'm really angry about this! But happy for those that get to go." It's just contradictory. And then go whine about how their show will somehow be less special. I only ever had one chance to see him when he came to Detroit, but it's not like because there were going to be a bunch of shows after that that I felt it was less special. I don't understand the mentality here. Sorry. :-\ But you're right, I suppose. If I were in this situation, I'd feel a little disappointed. I just have difficulties understanding people who say they are "pissed off" because that denotes active anger about the whole thing. I don't see why anyone would be upset there are going to be more shows and more chances to see him before he stops touring for awhile.

The Wolfboard meetup is happening on the 20th, therefore the Penultimate Finale > The Grand Finale.
But I'm still hopeful that, since my friends, parentals and I are staying in London to go shopping on the 21st, that we may be able to go to both.
Like someone said, if the second date exists, I doubt it could sell out in 5 weeks. Therefore the first show will be bigger in crowd numbers as well.

I don't think anyone said they were really angry about it did they? By saying I was a bit pissed off dosen't mean im super super angry and shouting and raging about the house about it!
Its all good adding more dates its just they probably should have added it before the date that has been advertised as the big special final show, not after (much like Bat For Lashes did a Koko recently). Now people are going to feel a need to go to both just in case they miss out on something special.
Also I think we all understand its not always possible to add date when you want due to booking availability etc so we wont burn our tickets in protest or something stupid like that! I think we are just a little dissapointed as its only a month away. Thats all.
Yes it is all in our minds and im sure they will be equaly amazing shows but perhaps in different ways! Roll on december!
