Yeah i don't think he will play A&E on this tour really, it has to be hard to do it solo and accoustic without electronics.

i think he just went for it and improvised in bristol, he tried playing it with his feet at the end and ended up falling off his piano stall backwards hah i guess he realised it was possible and did it again on the other dates

I have to say the girl who screamed when Patrick looked at her enhanced my enjoyment of the show, which was amazing anyway. Such unabashed fan-girldom had me, and I think everyone else around that area, laughing for a bit too long...

the girl who said 'oh my god' when patrick looked at her... megalolz. not the good kind. the show was alright, i really enjoyed dev's set as i've never heard any of his stuff before and he really impressed me. all the humility, though... i dunno what to think about that. he can't be that surprised that people like what he does, surely? oops, i'd better add some more about the actual show. fucked if i can remember the setlist but people who talk during gigs? i hate you all and want to smite you. patrick was talking about teignmouth and yeah, i've heard the speech before but it's still nice to hear it again, and these two girls were giggling and saying they'd interview him or something and i'm just like '...' ugh. he was very honest about augustine, and people kept going 'aww' in the crowd, which was pathetic and patronising to be quite honest, and patrick said 'it's not aw, it's just...shit, really' which sums that up well. i had more fun after the show (and a double vodka and lemonade, if i'm honest) while talking to (i think) patrick's pa (again i think) harry. he was hilarious, and really quite brutally honest, i love that in a person. we had a lot of caustic banter. there were only four of us waiting for patrick in the end, some girl and her mum had to go but patrick came out about half an hour after that, so wah, poor her, emily i think. patrick is going to read your letter on the bus. no pictures of the meeting, patrick said he felt like shit, but he was nice enough to humour us for a wee while until stuart yelled LET'S GO and off they popped. i asked him if he felt better after the fujifilm fiasco and he said he was okay, so....... erm. it was also stuart's birthday! so they had a chocolate fudge cake with 18 candles on it, it looked well nice and i wanted to steal it but you know. i'm nice. i should have some photos of the gig up soon. i really need to sort my camera settings out because in most of them, patrick's a big white blob... i'm really looking forward to middlesbrough, if only to talk to harry again... how sad is that.. edit #2: wow, train tickets are £70 for a return and £110 for a single and i definitely don't have that. might not be going to mboro after all but fingers crossed for me wolfpups please i really want to go

Dearest Jaybird,
Your post was very amusing. My fingers are crossed for you. I find it very weird that return is less than a one way. I guess they want to know you're not staying. I remember when I went to visit Meryls in Kent and the return was way less than one way. Anyhow, off topic banter ends. I'm glad you had a great time at the show! And it's good to hear that Patrick is okay, despite it sounding like he isn't. See you in December!
Sincerely, Jebus

deardeardear jebus, wibke is really funny, she was smoking outside right next to a sign that said you have to be at least 20 metres from the sign to smoke... we saw her read it and she saw us watching her read it but she continued smoking i wished stuart a happy birthday but he ignored me, either that or he didn't hear me as the 18 candles were a blatant lie. all in all, funtimes. the other couple waiting with me and sean were cute and funny, the boy kept referring to patrick as patrick wolf, i don't know why i found that amusing, maybe because he was just waiting for dev and then sneaked up on him for um, surprise effect. ecks oh ecks oh, love jaybirdybirdybird.

jaybirdybirdybird, I figured that Stuart wasn't 18, although he certainly looks not a day older than 17 . And yes, Happy Birthday Stuart! I'll always remember Stuart clutching on to his flowers whilst leaning up against a wall and drinking a bottle of wine at the recent Toronto show. He's quite amusing and awesome. Will you have pictures up soon? And will Mr. Jay be attending Middlesborough if you are. How was the overall show? Did he play any new songs? Yours, Jebus

jebus! pictures are in t'other thread. and mr. jay shall not be coming, but if all goes to plan i'll be staying with a friend who's at university nearby. yes, new songs, i didn't really rate 'hard times' which is why i didn't mention it, i feel it's too new to judge and i feel kind of harsh for saying i don't rate it... there was also 'peacock skies' and of course 'the days'. dev and patrick played 'souvenirs' together which was lovely, even the stopping in the middle because patrick said that he was ruining dev's moment... dev was just like ' my moment??' haha. dicking on miserable/arty people who act like pouty furniture at gigs, jaybirdZZZ

I think I may have been one of the tallest people there.
Boy in a red jumper very near the front?
Yes sir, thank you sir.
And it was very strange, I met Patrick, Dev and a lady about an hour and a half before the doors opened when I was walking through Leicester! It was a nice meeting and Patrick told me he liked my shoes, that man has HUGE hands you know!
Dev also told me how it felt to be rejected, this is a pretty sad thing to say?

Me and my friend were walking around Leicester for FOUR HOURS hoping for an 'accidental' meet-up, but to no avail...Balls. I was pretty tall as well, right at the front on the right, all in white with red tie and scarf...Practically lying across the stage.

i really enjoyed dev's set as i've never heard any of his stuff before and he really impressed me. all the humility, though... i dunno what to think about that. he can't be that surprised that people like what he does, surely? It's all part of the act, if he acts all self-depreciating people will be like, "oh, I bet its not THAT bad", then listen to it and tell him how much they liked it. It's a very good marketing tactic. Saying that, he's a very likeable guy. I didn't manage to get a copy of his comic or CD though.
