twas quite dramatic. the show was full of drunk idiots who kept talking through the songs. one of them was ingrid. patrick stopped halfway through augustine and said "fuck you ingrid, this song is about you" and then launched into the chorus. it was so weird!
anyway he was AMAZING all through the show despite seeming quite unhappy at the end because of the crowd not paying enough attention. that's what you get with competition winners i suppose. did loads of different versions of songs and mixed them together. ended with a new one too. he had his little mog on his grand piano an played them both at the same time. covered joi mitchell's river and was generally rather ace. victoria was good too

i got the setlist but the set he played bears no resemblance to it whatsoever.
he played really long versions of paris, bluebells and the libertine and did a really cool stamping thing in witw. mixed in lots of different languages and stuff too. pigeon song was lovely as were teignmouth, the stars, augustine and magpie complete with bishi.
he seemed to focus on all the melancholic songs which was nice after all the big dancing shows.

oh wow, that really does sound amazing. i'd love to hear those different versions. shame the audience was crap, especially as he was playing really well.

And I can't believe he played Augustine, amazing...sort of?

He mixed Bluebells with something, I can't remember what.
Umm, yeah, I'd like to re-iterate Patrick's declarative of 'fuck you Ingrid.'
Basically he left before he'd properly finished the set; it was supposed to end on The Magic Position, but like Graham mentioned to me, it was doubtful he would have been able to do that after what happened. Everyone along the front was drunk, everyone at the back was drunk - they had a little rabble and were shouting and laughing, and Patrick had to stop during The Libertine (I think) to tell them to be quiet or he'd finish right then and there.
I have to say, because of the Augustine incident, the performance itself was riveting; he played that song with such passion and vitriol. The anger was rather painfully stretched across his face, and it was so intense to watch. That particular song performance was one of the best I've ever seen him do, I couldn't take my eyes off him.
And then after that was done, he moved onto a new song called The Days, which was incredibly beautiful. And when he introduced that, his head was bowed and he was mumbling. And all the way through the song he looked very sad, it got a bit difficult to watch - he was pouring his heart out and we were all there either gawping at him or completely ignoring him to get more free alcohol. It made me feel uncomfortable to be in that crowd.
And then he finished that and left. And it was over.
It was wonderful, a lovely setting and a very beautifully thought out setlist. He played Paris; I have videos of that and Pigeon Song.
- Ed Larrikin was there. - Bishi looked fit as. - I saw some of you and once again was too rubbish to say hello....Meryl, and, um, Jay? Was Sibz there? The girl with blonde hair and glasses, taking pictures at the side, looked a lot like her. - Thank you Graham.

It's nice to see that the people who were there for things other than free cameras/booze saw a good show. Too bad not everyone saw it for the opportunity it was, but that's what you get with contest winners I suppose

From what I could tell, the people causing the fuss didn't look like your average Facebook-using Patrick Wolf fans. I think they were either with Fujifilm, or Patrick himself. The little gang with Ingrid, Ed and Alice were causing just as much noise; one lady kept whooping, even after he'd gone. She was doing my head in.
And then there was the girl Patrick said was speaking in tongues - she kept yelling incomprehensible nonsense, which Patrick brilliantly dismissed by clearing his throat and carrying on with his discussion of Moogs.

I love moogs, I hope the discussion was riveting.
You should have said hi to meryl and jay they're amazing people! I wish I was there only so that I can hang out with them. ahha

They were sitting quite happily in an alcove surrounded by other people, I would have said hi at the end but I kind of lost them. I was skulking at the bar. Staring.
I enjoyed the discussion, he obviously has a lot of enthusiasm for his assorted instrumental arsenal. The discussion included reference to evil paedophile internets.
