the tram is exciting, I like. Realised when I went to the Lowry last month though, clearly don't need to buy a ticket for it. Although..is it like trains in london i.e. when you are caught there is a horrible fine? You need to buy them now! I used to think this until I went to Salford Quays the other week, and both there and back ticket collectors came on the tram half way into the journey. Saying that, this was a Saturday afternoon so I don't know what it'll be like on a Sunday evening. Also, Danielle, we should get on the bit of the tram that connects the two carriages. It like spins round and stuff and is even more exciting than being in the normal carriage bit. Um, yeah, I find trams strangely fun too.

really? oh my god so doing that! and who ever inspects a tram! Recently in London my friend got caught without her ticket..but she cried at the man until he went away haha. I have just asked not to work on sunday so I don't have to rush - always exhausted after work too.

wow that gig was really good, i can't remember the setlist, but he played 2 new songs one of which he hasnt played live before ever. and he started with tristan, finished with magic position/accident and emergency.
really good night except the seats in the lowry were uncomfy as fuck.
also 2 tits of little girls who were sat in front of me, in on of the booths on stall tier, buggerred off down to the free 2 front seats, n i was well annoyed cause they got away with it. gutted! heh.

This show was AMAZING. It's actually, like, made my year. Especially as I managed to get me one of those Accident & Emergency t-shirts that I've been hankering after for ages but never been able to get. How adorable were Patrick and Dev on stage together?
Not sure of the setlist, but I think (off the top of my head) that the songs played were: Tristan, The Magic Position, Accident & Emergency, Pigeon Song, Paris, Bluebells, Get Lost, The Stars, The Hazelwood, The Shadowsea, Wind In The Wires, Teignmouth, The Railway House, Ghost Song, Souvenirs, a cover of Joni Mitchell's River, and the 2 new songs (The Days and Hard Times?). Thought it was a brilliant setlist.
Am now just sat here in a state of happiness.

Lovely, just lovely.

We were two rows from the front! Directly opposite the Steinway! Seen Patrick a few times but never seen him THAT drunk before. It seemed to hit him particularly on 'Stars'. As for other stuff, well, that new synth of his was just getting in the way, and his version of Railway house showed why he should never go near a real guitar again. That said, it WAS Patrick and that fact alone make all of his gigs special. The Hazelwood was by far the best thing I have ever seen him do live, and He also did Souvenir - with Dev - which was turning into the best song of the night until he (Patrick) forgot the words and I (yes, 'twas me) had to remind him! Some other quickfire observations: - * Dev - what a great voice. (Not convinced on the material as of yet) * Patrick hair - Teddy Boy 50's quiff? Way to go. * The Days? - Intensley moving lyric. Would love to know the story behind it. * Dolls house, stage left. Lovely touch, very 'Patrick'. * Guy in front of me - full on Patrick look- alike .... with a mate dressed in a bloody TRACKSUIT. At a Patrick gig??? Oh my. * "Any requests?" was the cry .... "Godrevy" was the return. He did Paris. He KNEW he was going to play that, the little minx. * Violin. Pretty lonely instrument tonight. Made just one appearance - Pigeon Song. Lovely version though. * Encore. When Patrick stumbled off the stage, I kinda dreaded his returning state. It was justified, he came bouncing back onstage with Dev, hammered the Steinway with his feet, and then played all the correct notes for Magic Position - but in the wrong order. It was kinda funny looking at Patrick and Dev, looking at each other as the keys collided in total misery. Smiles and passion got them through. Er .... FANTASTIC night though. ;D ;D

zurich80, I think you were directly in front of Daniellalala and I (apart from the row between us). I too thought that about Paris, he kinda gave it away when he said he'd been playing it on the tour so far I absolutely adore that song though. And I'm glad I'm not the only person who picked up on the guy in the tracksuit! Rather amusing I have to say... As for forgetting the words, I thought it was quite funny. I like it when things like that happen, it kind of adds to the show in a way. Gives you something to talk about. His hair was rather Morrisey-esque. Rather apt for Manchester don't you think?

Majorkey! Were you sat on the corner? I think? I was the one with the skirt, red shoes and blue/purple tights (if you noticed!)! I was really annoyed that I had to go! How long did you have to wait after I left? I absolutely loved the show! I was sat on row J in teh stalls s we had a good view and I could have taken some good photos except an annoying woman kept coming around telling people to stop taking photos. My friend secretly undertook a photo-taking and filming mission though. I haven't got the pictures yet. Yes, I really liked The Days and he sang a song about revolution, which I also thought was rather lovely. Dev was brilliant as I thought we ould be and I loved the cape during the encore. I thought it was funny when everybody was clapping while we waited for Patrick and Dev to come back on and as the clapping got quieter there was a group of people who went 'Woooooo' and then the clapping started again! I loved it when he played Paris and the version of Tristan was great...he managed the guitar this time! I shall post some photos later but they may be a bit dark.
