The best way to make a thread go away is to not post in it.

What way better threads? Superb and epic? Like what, Patrick Wolf as a cookie? Patrick's face photoshopped onto a picture of a lamppost really badly? This forum seems to be the victim of rampant fangirling and interwebz politics which is really quite a shame. Threads like this are symptomatic of all that. Fuck it. ALSO: Eight, not nine. Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of your most radical view, which was recently revived, the awkward moments thread (ha, i like reading that one), what are you reading right now, YSI thread, a lot of the other musical artists discussion threads, what's the best song to get people into patrick (HEY, what do you know, some less fangirlcrazy discussion in the Patrick Wolf section!) Okay... so there's not THAT many great threads at this particular moment in time. But they do exist. Plus you can revive old ones, start new ones, etc. But good job. You must know me well somehow, for I do consider Patrick Wolf as a cookie to be a bit on the epic side. I'm not gonna lie here. I think it's entertaining as HELL. Yes, we are a tad on the over-the-top kookyness side right now, but you know, if they really want it, anyone can try to find/create some good discussion somewhere in here. I still find it when I want it in the midst of all this Wolfcookieness. Can't stay on that topic forever, even though I think it's a pretty great concept, personally. And yeah, what Mimic said. OH WAIT! And I say 9 'cause I count the Other Musical Artists section, even though it's technically a part of the Common Room.

If you want to create some good threads of your own, then by all means just do it and stop moaning in other people's threads. Moaning and bitching doesn't make the content of the forum any better, it actually makes it a lot worse.

This isn't so much an in-joke as it is just people whinging about how they don't care or Rhianne debating on how "scary" her avatar was. If you find that funny, then fair enough and let that be a reflection upon you; but honestly, that seems like an incredibly strange sense of humour. No. It's like Christina said. It was actually an off-board in-joke between me and Rhianne firstly, then included the few people who saw the avatar. The details of the original joke I cba to explain, and you don't know, Clare, so I don't really care if you think it reflects badly apon me that I find this incident with a friend and the consequential events funny. Annabel, It actually says 'For… endless in-jokery'. I had a longer reply, but then my computer crashed, and I came back on and Christina had said practically everything I wanted to say. But it's not even about that anymore. It's probably stuff like this that is making people fuck off because the board is getting too argue-y and 'political' and whatever. Someone made a light-hearted, completely innocent thread and they get sworn at. I'm sorry, but there is something messed up about that. It's a forum for fuck's sake, there are many posting members, you can't make it so every single thread is completely to your taste and of interest to you. Grow some thicker skin, take yourself less seriously, and don't mess it up for everyone else. And stop trying to prove how intelligent you are. It gets old, very quickly. To be honest, it sounds like you need to grow some thicker skin, Florence. I'm actually just completely baffled as to why this is funny - and believe me, every remotely amusing bone in my body is straining here - but you seem to be taking this extremely seriously. "You don't even know"? Them's fighting words, gal, and I'm just trying to figure out why something that seems completely bizzare and inane to me is a source of hilarity. If you don't want to explain, that's fine, but don't have your head stuck up your arse, okay?

For a start, the last part of my post wasn't even directed at you Clare.
I didn't say "You don't even know". I said it was a joke which "you don't know", because you didn't know the origins of the joke, I wasn't that impressed when you said it "reflected on me" that I found the joke funny. Especially since it was more one of those 'you had to be there at the time' kind of things.
Don't tell me I've got my head up my arse or I'm taking it too seriously... I just... can't be bothered to answer this anymore. Surely you can see how the reaction this light-hearted thread has received is completely stupid? If you wouldn't be pissed off if you were in my situation, then sure, you are a better person than I am. But when I see a thread I don’t like, or don’t see the point of, or don’t think is funny, then I just leave it.

Shut up guys.
If you don't like the thread, go away and start ones you do like. Simple.
I just shouldn't have started it should i? Oh well, can't stop what happens in the heat of the moment. Fate.

Oh, and it's amazing i haven't gained a secret serial smiter yet. Truest thing you've ever said. If she does it'll be evidence that this board is actually truely shit and people have a serious lack of taste. Annabel is pretty much the best.
