ahaha, yep, i used to be a proper wee mosher but for some reason a few people in my year still think that i am, when clearly i have moved on from my tragic days
not that the smashing pumpkins are tragic, just that i was

Last summer I suddenly was in a brief Pumpkins fascination period, and then coincidentally during that time I stumbled across Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for a mere 4 dollars at a flea market. Some ex-90's-teen was selling it, haha. So I was all psyched about that. But you know, I NEVER gave it a proper good listening to this day, because Lycanthropy and Wind in the Wires arrived in the mail shortly after. I've been slowly going back to them though so hopefully soon I'll sit down and enjoy that whole album.

Mellon Collie is my least favourite Pumpkins album, though I love a lot of it. I guess you could call it the most "mosher" of their albums.

i enjoyed mellon collie... but it seemed rushed. i was always a siamese dream in all its quiet prettiness. i have a patch on my bag too! or no i did, just kidding, i took it off. i bought mellon collie on the day my dog ran away cuz i was super sad.

I have never listened to a Smashing Pumpkins album. To my knowledge I've never heard a Smashing Pumpkins song...

Billy Corgan's FACE irritates me.

I actually love Machina, this is another of these opinions of which I am the only person alive to hold! haha.
It sounds odd but I love the weird, distant production it makes everything sound sort of mysterious.
I Of The Mourning might be my favourite Pumpkins songs actually.

oh yes, there's bits of machina i love...I think it was glass and the ghost children. Just never was a favourite album as a whole. did anyoneever get judas O, the b-sides and rarities? I bought the greatest hits for my sister and 2 my surprise it contained not only the greatest hits cd but also the b-sides and rarities album! exciting stuff.

I'm with josh. Machina is there best. only 3-4 songs are sucky. the rest are good.

I utterly love the James Iha written song on the extra disc on the Greatest Hits, I think it's called Believe, it's lush harmony related loveliness.
Machina has a fair bit of filler to be honest, but that's the problem with the Pumpkins, at best they were in need of an editor.

A lot of my favourite "teenage" bands I don't listen to anymore really (Manics, Hole, Nirvana.. ) but I still enjoy the Pumpkins for whatever reason.

I went through a massive nirvana stage too. luckily, i avoided becoming cliche by growing out of it. but there's one song called marigold which i really do love. although it's nothing like other nirvana songs. I occasionally like listening to nirvana actually, nevermind has good melodies and in utero has that nice screamed/hoarse/melodic contrast

Yeah I still like Nirvana if I hear them, but I just never play them anymore.
