those are the only words i can think to describe this album.
i think it one of the best albums i've heard for a very long time. i have listened to it constantly the last week or so!
my favourite songs at the moment are "to the lighthouse" and "the childcatcher"

Well, "to the lighthouse" was the first song of Patrick I have ever heard, so there's the sentimental factor. But apart from that, I heard it at the moment when I was missing sailing so much (it was in the middle of winter) and the words "to the lighthouse my friend..." were so accurate at that time. His voice was so full of passion and I fell in love with the music instantly. I couldn't find any song on "Wind in the wires" that would make me feel in a similar way, but it really fills me with a desire to leave the house and become a gypsy (is it still possible nowadays?)

I remember when I first got the album I was in a bit of a music slump, so for me hearing this album was like a breath of fresh air. I loved 'Paris' that was the first song I heard of his before I bought the album. I think 'Paris' will always hold a special place just as the album does because it took me out of my music slump.

I think my favourite has to be To The Lighthouse closely followed by The Childcatcher

To The Lighthouse, and A Boy Like Me.
The video for To The Lighthouse is wonderful. I'm not sure why. I like the spiral stairs.

I dont know why, but i feel the childcatcher is too self conscious to be a truly brilliant track. it doesn't, in my opinion have the same elevating feel as dont say no and Paris do, and those two are my favourite tracks. To the lighthouse is of course brilliant, but the sound like massed crickets in the back ground is slightly too loud.
I fell in love with this album immediately because of wolf song... it is such a passionate opening song.( and yes pedants, i know it is'nt the first song)

When first I heard patrick wolf back in april 2004, it was "Blood Beats Black", and I was blown away! It took me til august to get a hold on a copy of Lycanthropy, and I could hardly listen to anything else... til WITW came out! ;D

i'm currently in a phase where all i can listen to is Patrick Wolf. it's not a bad thing because his music is so unique. as soon as i heard the drums come in on the song Lycanthropy, i knew i was in love. this was only the second song i had heard by Mr. Wolf but i knew it was the start of a beautiful thing.

As ridiculous as it sounds, I remember, when i first heard Patrick Wolf on WITW, thinking "My god, this is life changing stuff". When I heard Lycanthropy for the first it changed again, I was having a hard time with stuff at the time and I remember that nothing had ever made me feel so alive as the music did. Sorry, going to cut this short, just listening to a live version of Theseus and am getting close to tears here I think...

A Boy like me is my absolute favourite Patrick-song. I can identify with the "9 and 90" bit and the whole song is amazing.
