I finish my degree in a years time, and as much as I love Bath, I need a change of scene. I was thinking Glasgow. London half-appeals but 1. expense and 2.mehh everyone thinks london's great but is it reaaally?
I know a few of you are from those parts (glasgow meetup)...What's it like? Good music scene? expensive/cheap? Anyone want to nominate a city for me to live in? Anywhere. Whatever. I don't know. Everyone is bugging me to make post-graduation plans and I'm just a bit lost.

From what I'm told by LOTS of people, Glasgow is second only to London. The music scene's good, it's easy to get around, it's a lot cheaper than London and there's loads to do. I think London's easier for people who aren't students, so it's really up to what appeals. I wouldn't be anywhere else than here in glasgow right now, though. It's a great place.

Move to Baltimore?
No, being raised in its vicinity has not made me biased, I swear.

I just think everyone should move to New Hampshire, because it's awesome.
(That's a bloody-freaking-lie. NH sucks. Sometimes. There's lots of forests, though. And ponds and hiking and my Secret Garden-esque backyard.)

I love your backyard. If you're willing, I would someday love to hike down to the river. New Hampshire is..... horribly boring.
(I love Glasgow more) I know it better than any other place in the world that I've never been to. I could probably navigate pretty well without using a map.

Anytime you'd like to go visit the river let me know- we'll take a picnic. It will be wonderful... and we can hike along the river aways, hit the waterfall (hopefully...) New Hampshire is pretty boring. With really no musical scene to speak of, unless you count local Battle of the Bands and the like. I like Glasgow because of Belle and Sebastian and laundry-matts and all of these terribly mundane things that seem like they would be ever-so-enchanting in Scotland.

Sarah Osgood. Maybe Morgan. They're the only ones that can stand out against the masses. (and the picnic sounds sweet) xxx arielle

the trouble with london is because it is so large everyone is very scattered but scattered in their own groups of people i guess, so it can be really cliquey and weird, not hard to find a group of people who has similar ideas to you once you know where they hang out, but hard to get a foot in the door you know? and it's very rare to find somewhere where all different people mix together, in my experience. but in glasgow i was absolutely amazed i went out to a disco and it was like everyone who was a bit different and some people who were quite normal so to speak had gathered together and were mixing up all these different styles and looks and forgetting all that scene nonsense and just dancing until they sweated their make up off, i loved it, i was just staring around in amazement, it was wonderful.
does rain a lot in glasgow though.

Hey, I just found out that there's a Bath in New Hampshire. As in a town, not a tub.
<------ Which means I wouldn't have to change this!

thank you I shall plan a trip to Glasgow. It sounds perfect. I love rain. I don't know London well enough to have an opinion, but almost all my friends have relocated/are going to relocate there so I guess I will soon The problem is that these are friends with careers and money and suits and I just want to get trashed. I think it would have been a great place to be a student and get money chucked at me, but now I have to get a job and therefore would have to choose between things like house or food (blatantly food) and clothes or cds (blatantly cds), so, as you can see, I'd just be a naked hobo with a boombox. I'm gonna go check flights and flat prices in Glasgow Perhaps a bit premature but I'm running out of things to do on the internet

Glasgow is the city to be. If you need a place to live, Boy is renting out a room for £250/month from Christmas in PRIME LOCATION. Glasgow is great city. As much as I love London, I was shocked by how unfriendly people are there. Maybe it's just because Glasgow is my homecity and we're all friendly bastards, but perhaps Glasgow is just a uniquely friendly place. Comparitively, it's far cheaper to live in, the nightlife is great, and it's actually a very beautiful city. Choose Glasgow!

Y'know if someone's renting a room off him, it might be handy to know him as something other than Boy
