"Gypsy" dance party? While it's not "gypsy" per se, I'd like to recommend some Turkish music: Rompi Rompi is really fun and one of my favorite songs. I'd also like to recommend whatever is on this CD especially the second track. It's a medly that contains the song "Telegrafini tellerini" which is also tons of fun. I would upload it for you if I had it, but I don't. Look on BitTorrent? (Maybe?) General dance party recs: !!! is always a good time. I also have a soft spot for Cut Copy.

Do you want electronic sex music?
If so, Dandi Wind and Annie.

A gypsy party? I think it should have lots of accordion music, maybe something like Beirut? Oh, oh, and what about At The Feet of Re by Larrikin Love? Oh, and definitely A Hawk and a Hacksaw! Salt Water is excellent, as is The Water Under The Moon. And I think P Wo's Souvenirs would go really well. Fake Palindromes by Andrew Bird could work. Perhaps Plum Dumb by Fog? No Moon by Iron and Wine has a great sound and some really gorgeous guitar; although it is perhaps slightly more blues than gypsy. Though, you know, no gypsy mix is complete without some beautiful folk music, so how about Place to Be or Road by Nick Drake? I'd also recommend some Robyn Hitchcock - I think you should use I Saw Nick Drake, just for continuity's sake. Some Sufjan Stevens could definitely be perfect. Perhaps Casimir Pulaski Day, or something from Seven Swans? If the latter, maybe All The Trees of the Field Will Clap Their Hands? Perhaps Taxi Taxi! could work, too - To Hide This Way is a beautiful song and could definitely set a nice mood. Oh, and do please include iIn Our Talons by Bowerbirds. If you need any of these files, lemme know and I'll YSI!

Already in the line-up is Beirut and Gogol, of course! It is a must.

If you fancy listening to it:
Black Ox Orkestar's Ver Tanzt?
It's all in yiddish, though...

Gogol Bordello! And yes, Casimir Pulaski is really sad, but it has a great sound - and if it's a party, not many people will be listening to the lyrics.
I like entirely too much music.

Yiddish is one of my favorite languages. And I think my friend actually knows it, or used to.

It's an amazing album, and he's a brilliant musician but I'm not sure how close to gypsy it is.

While I love Beirut, I just don't find it very danceable. Maybe I'm misremembering it?
