Does anyone know a nice brand of Baritone Ukulele? I have a regular one, but I want to get a nice Baritone uke. if you're ready to pay the price (and not be disappointed) I suggest a Brüko uke (they're a german brand). The sound is awesome. I also tested the soprano with solid mahogany top done by Stagg, which sounded surprinsingly very well! The key for a nice sounding instrument being the "solid wood" part.

Oh, I thought my ukelele was quite regular but it seems like "my" tuning (B, F#, D, A or backwards, I dont know but) is rare, or what? Or have I understood this wrong?

Now I understand more but I dont get My dog has flees, why not A dog has flees? Anyway, how come then there is no tabs here for that tuning?

For the tabs, well it just means they're one tune lower than the way it'll sound when you play it your way (your tuning). But the fingering remains the same. You may choose to change the tuning of your uke if you prefer though: just one tune higher on each string.

Good! Well, I thought so. I have been thinking about changing but then I can no longer play any basic chords . You seem to know alot! I wonder if there is any courses for Ukulele playing?

I wonder if there is any courses for Ukulele playing? As far as I'm concerned, I just play chords and stuff: no need for teaching. I self-tought myself to both guitar and uke, simply by playing chords I found on the internet etc. Same goes for tabs, and with time you'll learn to find the chords yourself and even compose songs! ;D But having the opportunity to play with others can be very nice.

Yes, I thought so too. Ans maybe someone can tell me when I'm going anything wrong. I know mostly all of the chords and I play song on the internet, but its not going any well. Maybe I have to practise more

There is a version either in here or in the guitar tabs thread, i got his from one of them, not sure if it is identical but these are the basic chords for the baritone uke: 0 0 0 3 3 3 4 0 2 0 0 0 and then for the verse you can use at the begining: 0 3 0 4 hope that helps

Standard baritone uke tuning DGBE, like the 4 highest strings on a guitar

I think it's (don't quote me on this) got three standardized tunings- DAD (fifth), DAA (ionian in D) and DAC (aeolian in D). I think DAD is the most popular... Don't know what he played it as.

i just got a baritone uke the other day lol. it was fairly simple to figure out. its a lot of fun and i can't stop playing it lol. i don't like the regular tuning for it so i changed it up a bit. i left the D G and E alone but i tuned the B up to C and chords are a bit easier to form. since i have started reading this thread and the tabs thread i have tried out a few new tunings. thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to these threads! i have really learned a lot. ;D

I'm shopping for a new baritone uke. Anyone have any recommendations? My current is a cheap thing I bought for $35. I'm currently looking to spend up to $200.
Also, I've compiled all the Patrick Wolf tabs/music I've found in this site into a series of files dedicated to each song. If anyone would like that (made for easier navigation) or wants to share/exchange Wolf media or uke advice, I'm JustRoc84@gmail.com . You may want to put Patrick Wolf in the subject line to separate it from spam.

I'd just get the Lanikai LU-21 Baritone from musicians friend for 100 bucks. I got one and I'm pretty sure its what he uses. It sounds great and holds up quite well. Then with the rest I'd buy the LU-21 Soprano as well, just so you have both range of sounds, I think it costs $55. I don't know what the stock strings sound like though, they broke when I got them(my fault, I idiotically didn't know that the tuning goes high, lowest, low, highest, so I tried tuning it progressively up, BIG MISTAKE, luckily my dad was about to leave work and he worked by near a huge music store so he got me a couple packs of the d'addario clear nylons). also since sopranos have two main tunings and one between that is often used, I'd get a cute little ukulele capo for like 3 bucks, but that'd be on another site I think.
