Hey! Just a suggestion...
What about this new "thread" to share the tabs, chords and impression on the use of ukulele?
I'd see it as a complement to the "tabs" one. There are still more tabs and chords coming (and I can't tell how glad I am about it), but I think it might be usefull to have a part devoted to the uke, since some of you seem to tune their guitar in different ways to stick to the songs, others have a proper uke or, like me, try to find alternatives (I'll be using my good old banjo til I find the money for a uke) like using a classic guitar with only the 4 middle strings, etc. Any other suggestion is welcom...
So, tell me what you think of it! I would really don't mind having to jump from "tabs" to "uke will rule". I'll know where to find things I can play on my guitar or not... And it would be funny to give the ukulele his "lettres de noblesse"...
Read you soon

OK from various live things I think I have determined the open tunings used which changes things somewhat.
So the tuning I think is correct for the following songs is DADF#.
GET LOST
Beginning and Chorus. F#---0----1----3-- D----0----2----4-- A----0----2----4-- D----0----2----4-- I think sometimes the 2nd string is left open.
Verse. F#--0-----0---0---0---0---0---0---0-- D--0-----0---0---0---0---0---0---0-- A--0-----5---0---5---0---5---0---7-- D--0-----5---0---5---0---5---0---7--
Some of the open strings are dampened sometimes.
*************************************** WOLF SONG
Beginning F#---------0--------0------------------0ho1po0---------- D--5---------------------4---------2---------------2----2- A------5--------4---------------2---------------------2--- D--5---------4-------4------2----------------------------- I think the chords are right but the picking is just approximate.
Verse F#--(5)---(7)---(8)---(7)--- D--(5)---(7)---(9)---(7)--- A---5-----7-----9-----7---- D---5-----7-----9-----7---- The fingerings in brackets are variations not always played and only one per chord is played at a time. They are open strings if not used. Hope that makes sense.
Chorus F#--0----5-----7---0--0--0--0---- D--0----0-----0---0--0--0--0---- A--0----5-----7---5--4--2--0---- D--0----5-----7---0--0--0--0----
************************************** LANDSEND/TOWANS
Main Melody bit thing F#--8--7--5--3--1-0---------- D-----------------------2---0- A------------------------------ D------------------------------ Just fret these notes and strum the others open. The notes marked '0' mean all strings are played open.
Verse F#--------0-----0--- D--------0-----0--- A--------0-----5--- D--------0-----5-- The open strings are sometimes dampened.
Chorus F#---------5-----0-----0--- D---------0-----0-----0--- A---------5-----0-----7--- D---------5-----0-----7---
Towans F#------------0-----0-----0--- D------------0-----0-----0--- A------------5-----7-----9--- D------------5-----7-----9---
********************************* THE LIBERTINE
Verse F#------------------ D------------------ A---9-----5----4- D---9-----5----4- Open strings are fine here just getting lazy at putting them in.
Ive got to go bit F#------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------- A-----5---4---5---4---5---4---5---7---------- D-----5---4---5---4---5---4---5---7---------- Again open strings are fine.
Chorus bit/ In this drought bit. F#------------------------ D------------------------ A---9----5----4----7--- D---9----5----4----7--- Open strings still fine.

Wind In The Wires can be played using the same tuning a couple semitones down
Beginning melody E---------0-------0-------------------0-------- C-----2--------------2------2------------2---- G--------------2----------------4-------------- C--0---------------------4---------4-----------
Chord progression E--0------0-------0---------------------------------- C--0-----(9)------4----------------------------------- G--0------9-------4---------------------------------- C--0------9-------4---------------------------------- The 9 in brackets is optional and can either be fretted or left open.

May blessings pour down upon the maker of this thread.
I bought my Uke with the intention of playing the tabs, and now I can. Hoorah!
Now, wait.
I adjusted my Uke to D A D F#, and then tried Lands end, and it sounded far too deep. Are Both D's the same? What type of Uke are you using? My soprano can barely hold the strings, they are so tight.

yeahoooooo! atrocityexhibition!!!!! YOU rule!!!! My banjo will be delighted to give birth to all these melodies!!! On his behalf, I thank you very much! As to you, "SmallDeaths"... you're welcome It might be easier with a bariton uke As far as my banjo is concerned, if his strings may work the way a uke's would, the sound is far more different and er.... quite "weird and insane" instead of melancholic... well yeah...

I might need a tenor, or a Baritone.
Dang it. Here comes another 80 bucks to find and then waste. Gurmble mumble.

Its baritone or first four strings of a guitar for these.

"Get Lost"? Well, the wolf played it in Brussles as well... sounds kinda "smith-morrissey-ish". A great "summer-hit" as a fellow Patrick Wolf-fan told me... and I think she might be right! Too bad this song won't be part of the forthcoming "wind in the wires" single... Anyway, I've done it: I took my old banjo out of my parent's attic back to my home and tuned it so I could play the wonderfull chords and tabs you (mostly atrocityexhibition) posted on this site and thread... I'm having the time of my life! but still, and as I've said before: Patrick's song played that way really truely madly sound insane! There is a true kind of weirdness going around... I can't really express it but, well, you get the feeling I guess...

I-1---3---1---0---- I-3---3---3---1---- I-2---0---2---2---- I-0---0---0---2----
Try that for railway house on soprano ukulele. If you have a guitar/baritone ukulele you will need a capo on the 4th or 5th fret I cant remember which.

I-1---3---1---0---- I-3---3---3---1---- I-2---0---2---2---- I-0---0---0---2---- Heuu errr... I'm not sure about the tuning for this "Railway House": with or without a capo it doesn't seem to work with the DADF# tuning Heeeelp! Appart from that one, all the other songs work perfectly well, with here and there, some space for "impros" thanx again "atrocityexhibition"

i can't get it to work. it is so confusing for me. I'm not too good with guitars do you reckon it would help if i changed the key on my guitar? and then tried to play railway house.
