NO SHAME.
Me and Oatsy boy we're shooting the shit on msn and it turns out hes the worlds least likely old skool ECW junkie. EC-DUB! EC-DUB etc..
You get so much shit, and so many inane "you know its fake don't you?!" (no shit sherlock) type comments for being a wrestling fan. But really theres nothing else like it as a hybrid of amazing athleticism, camp theatrics, and daft "male soap opera" plot lines in the good old US of A.
The Japanese and Mexican styles of wresting are close to your actual art though. Wrestling at its purest is something to behold, two amazing athletic men telling a story with their bodies.
The WWE has held a monopoly on american wrestling for a while and it really is quite poor on the whole these days but I still keep up (it was Wrestlemania on sunday)
Anyone else care to come out? haha.

Not as much as I would have liked... but I did watch it when I could get hold of video tapes. I've seen a few Super Crazy/Taijri matchs before.
I remember Rob Van Dam's series with Jerry Lynn, that was some good stuff.

Anything with Newjack. Sabu - Sandman, Sabu - Terry Funk. Anything including sabu basically. Scary stuff man Though I do appreciate anyone who wraps themselves in barbed wire and launches at their opponent to entertain a blood thirsty audience.

My all time favourite wrestler has to be Mick Foley, not only did he nearly killed himself every other week in order to tell a story and entertain the fans, he's a witty and intelligent guy deffo not the Neanderthal you imagine most wrestlers to be. He was a really pioneer in bringing the Hardcore style to the states.
He did scare me sometimes, cos he would risk his body so much to put on a good show I would legit worry about him.
He did this storyline in ECW where he denounced hardcore wrestling and the blood thirsty ways of the ECW fans. It was ace.
Its funny he had his ear accidentally tore from his head in a match and finished the match! If a "real" sportsperson say David Beckham lost an the ear on the pitch, would he finish the match? Would he bollocks..

a little anecdote:
my brothers and i took my grandma to a WWF wrestling match/ show, however you want to call it. This was back when the Undertaker was not as crazy, not even sure if he still is in the business and x-pac was known as the 1,2,3 kid. I miss the heartbreak kid! I still have the gloves! haha
I think I've grown the whole wrestling thing, it was fun when I was still a kid though. The end.

I don't like watching wrestling anymore, but I sure had a phase and a half.

My favourite one was when that guy was in love with a mop - yes, a mop - and his opponents stole the mop and fed it through a wood chipper. Effed up ess. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

Bushman, I love that you remember such an obscure story line! Moppy, haha.. theres been even worse and weirder storylines, this site is dedicated to them, its very amusing www.wrestlecrap.com/ Mick Foley's first autobiography is amazing, I'd deffo urge anyone who wants to understand the Wrestling business to read that, his second one is scarping the barrel a bit but its worth it for The Billy Corgan anecdote near the end..

Cena and Micheals went an hour last night, they effectively gave away the 'Mania Main Event on free TV with a far superior performance broken down into three twenty minutes stories. The 'E baffle me sometimes, there's a swerve coming this Sunday methinks.

A whole hour of Cena?! Sounds like torture to me. But I'll take your word for it that it was good!
ahh Daily Motion, I guess I'll judge for myself.
