I'll just copy the stuff I wrote in the Wolf Pack-section "I discovered Patrick eight days ago, when I was browsing through a bunch of profiles at myspace. There was a guy who had Patrick's pic on his profile (this one by the way: ) and he looked exactly how I had imagined the fairies in Susanna Clarke's novel Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrel, which I was reading at the time. Oh, and the violin didn't exactly ruin the fairy-feeling. Extremely curious of how this man's music would sound like, I checked him out, and the music proved to be excactly how wonderful I had imagined it to be. If not better."

Ah what a wonderful story!!!! and I do love that book! And oh yes, when I saw a picture of patrick I instantly thought of fairies and ethereal lovely beings. welcome to the realm of patrick

Takk takk I can't wait till Clarke's next novel is done. I just hope that it won't take twelve years for her to write it this time..

no, I speak norwegian, but icelandic is almost the same language as the one they talked in norway some hundred years ago, so there are certain similarities...

Sometime last year this jerk (Racetrack) sent me a link to some lame band that I'd never heard before. Luckily I didn't just close out of their site, but clicked on the page that provided links to the websites of the band's favourite musicians, and Patrick's website happened to be one of the links I clicked on. Hooked since.

My (now ex) boyfriend told me to listen to him in 2005. I didn't listen for about a week, but then I remembered and fell in love with Bloodbeat.

I seriously actually can't remember... I remember visiting the website when it was in it's Wind-In-The-Wires era, listening to song of the songs, and loving them, so buying some badges... then I can't remember anything until I saw him live in February, and since then it's been obsessional

It was the last April. I was reading the programming (?) of this year of a Malaga's theatre. And there he was, a mysterious Patrick Wolf. I thought that he seem a very interesting musician, I talked about him with my sister, and she told me she was going to see him!!
And I bought my ticket and went with her. I fell in love with his music, and since then, I practically don't hear other music.

Liz (as in mynameisliz) She mentioned him in an english presentation iabout last October and said how brilliant he was. I was intrigued so she played me Wind in the Wires, which, addmittedly I didn't like at first. Then I watched The Libertine video and I decided that I liked him. Then I saw him on TV and decided I loved him. Then I saw him live in February and became obsessed.

i was really drunk in a nightclub... isn't that always the best way to find out about things. but i had heard about his dinosaur trousers beforehand, and also from the underground network of violists.

A couple of years ago someone told me that she thought I would like Patrick Wolf, and as you can tell, I did.

When I was 14/15 i was this crazy wild depressive child who wore a raccoon tail from my belt and all black and one day i was in amoeba music in sf with a friend who was friends with some guy who worked there and we were talking and he recommended lycanthropy to me. i bought it because hte record i wanted to get they didnt have. but i loved it, it was during this period of my life where i would go on long walks at night and lycanthropy was what i listened to. and then stuff happened and i quit those walks and retreated from modern culture and completely forgot about pw until this spring when i was in london and i saw A&E music video at the BFI, it was this queer in your ear program for the gay & lesbian film festival and i fell in love all over again.

NME, around Halloween time last year. There was a feature on 'Albums of the year' or something, and he was talking about Larrikin Love's 'The Freedom Spark'. It was only like, a few sentences, but I looked him up and downloaded the song Lycanthropy. I liked it, but I kind of forgot about it after a while. Then on a Sunday afternoon I was flicking through tv channels and Bluebells was on Q, I remembered about Lycanthropy and set about getting hold of some more songs.
So yeah. That's my story.

It's strange... I can't remember exactly what happened. It was sometime in February this year, and I think I must have seen a review or advert or something in NME and his name stuck in my head (like loads of other people have said). The next thing I can remember, I saw the Accident and Emergency video on E4 Music about a week later, and I can remember thinking as his name came up at the beginning of the video, 'Oh yeah, I like this guy'. And I turned it up really loud and watched the video all the way through and it made me endlessly happy. I know I listened to some of his music between first reading his name and seeing the A&E video, but I can't remember what, where or why... I probably looked him up on Youtube or Amazon or something. I do that a lot with musicians. He was just one of those artists who I had heard and liked but didn’t know much about. It’s a good job I was watching when the A&E video came on E4 Music, because I haven’t seen any PW video’s on TV since then, or heard him on the radio. Lucky, lucky coincidence ;D So yeah, then I saw one of my friends on MSN was listening to 'Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position' and so I started a conversation with her saying something along the lines of 'Oh, Patrick Wolf, I really love him!' And of course, after that we became really good friends. She sent me Pigeon Song, Wind In The Wires and The Magic Position and I didn’t listen to anything other than those 3 songs for quite a long time… I got more songs and then bought all 3 CD’s and downloaded shiploads of live tracks and by that point the obsession had long since taken hold. Colin Murray, now a well renowed twat. I lol'ed ;D

I'm such a new fan. :-\ I'd never even heard of him until December. And then, I only saw his picture in 100x100 form quite a bit. Some girl was using him as the Portrayed-By for her character in an RPG I was in on Greatestjournal. And then, a little later, I was making my own character for another game, and my friend suggested I use him as the PB. So I did! And I like making icons, so I went looking for pictures. I stumbled onto his website, and this song just started playing. I wish I remembered which one it was. BUT, I remember being shocked and amazed at how deep his voice was, because he just seems so delicate! Then, I went to youtube, naturally. I do believe Tristan was the first video I saw. I thought it was pretty much the most amazing thing ever. More so the video than the actual song at first. I watched it about a million times that first week.. Eventually I acquired real music, and This makes me feel like such a nerd. Ah, well. I knew that one already.
