if that really was patrick.....his comment was the most truthful comment i have read in the time that i have been living here in this world.

He says a part about his last show being this November and leaving us for a while...if again this is true,..it has broken my heart :-[because he is, in my opinion, one of the strongest and most talented musicians of today.

I can understand how tiring all the interviews and shows would be. (I mean i went to just one of his shows standing there in the crowd wearing the highest pair of high-heels i have, because i am so small and everyone in the crowd are so tall. When it had finished I could barely walk home!)

I dont want patrick to go totally, his efforts should be known!
Atleast do a couple of shows a year in areas of england..yes?

But then again, who am i to say what he should do or not, nobody can except him.

I will miss seeing him.

I don't know what to think....

part of me really hopes its not him, last ever concert in november? thats heartbreaking, hopefully he means of this album and we'll see some more of him later with new material, i don't know. But it sounds like him, and would tie in with the tower and thickets.

I really hope this forum hasn't been degraded by some joker prettending to be patrick though.

and as idrinkmascara says take care, and hopefully we'll see you soon if it is you

I don't think so.

Everyone's honest on here. It would alienate him. It'd be like being able to hear what everyone thinks about you. Enough to make you shudder.

Patrick has just e-mailed me to say it is really him: 'Everything is good for me no matter what it must seem like from the outside right now.'

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm a little saddened, but I kind of understand it.

Good luck Patrick, I hope I can see you live before it all ends! I feel like singing Jeff Buckley, last goodbye, but maybe that's a bit inappropriate.
EDIT: To hell with it, I'm going to have a toast to Patrick and listen to Jeff Buckley.

i was thinking about this the other day, remember the blog where he mentioned releasing his technicolour glory on a sepia world? I think that, whether this actually is patrick or not, he must feel like he's had all his hard work thrown back in his face to a certain degree, what with dissapointing sales and poor, sometimes insulting journalism surrounding him (attidude magazine anyone?) and a somewhat sedated reception at the arcade fire gigs.

I don't think many of us could begin to comprehend the amount of work thats gone into the making of the album and touring it.

I hope he realises, he must do, the sheer joy the record and live shows have brought us that truely appreciate him. I hope he feels like part of his ojective of passing on his joy to us has been achieved, because it must be a real downer on him if it doesnt.

Iv kind of rambled there and i dont know if iv been able to fully get how i feel across in words but i hope you get the gist of it

x xx

Despite what happens, I still have three albums and many unreleased recordings to help me imagine. Two years have been spent with not much else going into my ears, hopefully many more.

Wow, that surprised me!

Sorry, I've been on so many forums where people have pretended to be cancer patients (and then 'died'), people pretending to be the artists etc. so cynicism is what I go to.

Anyway: Fair dos to Patrick. I hope he changes his mind, but I'd rather the guy was happy.

Fuck.

Patrick, don't tell me it's us driving you to that.

Seriously... anything we say about you when drunk shouldn't be damning of your career. I know it's ridiculous that we're all so full of judgement but we would be about anyone. And so much of it is out of pure worry, and distaste for the way the interview was handled by those chipper opportunistic people at MisShapes.

You couldn't have read this all at a less opportune time. The rest is such a slew of absolute cut-throat adoration for you, despite how it annoys some of the board. You know your fan-base are some of the most loving and understanding people you could ever hope to have rallying behind you, and I know this, because I have met them and talked to them and found so much wonder in them.

Shit, I hope you can read this and know how much everyone loves you, so deeply. I know if you're intending to retire from your musical world then you will, but don't do it on our account, and don't come away from this with such a bad taste in your mouth.

God I feel horrible. I can't believe this at all.

EDIT: And just to reiterate: YOU HAVE made us happy, okay? Directly and indirectly your music has managed to cast everything in the past year in this brilliant neon glow, for me. You have no idea. Here I am embarrassing myself in front of all these peers but I've done that before. Thanked you tirelessly. You know this. I just hope you're humanly self-conscious enough to want to see this reaction, and read what I'm saying, and reconsider, cripes...
