scan! type it up! exclamation marks! I don't have a scanner but, I am more than happy to type it out The Interviewer was Peter Robinson (who's humour I don't usually get) so here goes: PATRICK WOLF Interview NME 11 December 2010: The pop siren on his love of lightbulbs, his famous great grandad and, er, 'Lolbabez' Hello, Patrick. Do you buy lightbulbs? No, but my boyfriend does. Do you have a favourite type?I really like the candle ones. And eco-friendly ones. An energy-saving candle style lightbulb would have to be my favourite Candle-style lightbulbs rarely give off a satisfactory lightI don't mean the candle-shape ones. I mean the ones that flicker Of the variety one might purchase in a Christmas grotto-type store that has popped up in the vacant premises where a Woolworths once was?Yes! It's mood lighting. I'm actually related....Well, my great grandfather was Joseph Swan, who invented the lightbulb with Thomas Edison Who was cruelly written out of history!Yes! How did you know that? The clue is the fact that I'd never heard of him.Edison & Swan did a thing called 'Ediswan'. That was their first company. Then Edison got rid of Swan and said, 'I invented the lightbulb'. That is actually exciting I KNOW! I want to go on 'Who Do You Think You Are' and find out more about this. This is why I have to carry on with music, and not die at 27, so that I can be worthy of going on that show. If you get really famous you can go on 'Hole in the Wall' tooNo. I might do that in private but I'm not doing it on TV. I'm still reeling from the lightbulb newsIt all happened in the Newcastle area. I got really angry because I went to into the Science Museum when I was younger and there was a section on him but they removed it. It's quite sad. Maybe that's what will happen to me. What do you think he would make of your penchant for novelty lightbulbs? Do you think he'd find it offensive, that you were trivialising his struggle?I don't know. I like to think he looks down on me from above Was he responsible for any other amazing inventions? No, just the lightbulbs. My mum did the first designs for Concorde, though. That's quite good. Meanwhile, you've made some pop musicYes, and now I am on Album Five Is it called 'Album Five'?No, I'm giving myself until Friday to come up with the name for it. It's an album about love and romance and positive energy and it's very tricky to avoid the clichés. It can't be too jokey. That's a shame - you could have called it 'LOL', and then the inevitable 'deluxe' reissue in eight months could have been 'ROFL'That's almost as good as Ellie Goulding's 'Bright Lights'. It's hard with love and romance, You run the risk of being seen as 'too earnest' You want it to be full of LOLs, don't you? That's one of my characters: Lolbabez. ExplainYou know when you're on the Tube and someone's done an advert featuring a beer bottle and you know they've only done this so that the people stand in front of it pretending to be drinking a KingKong-sized bottle of beer? Er...And then they put the picture on Facebook? Well, that's Lolbabez. I wonder if Lolbabez is a consequence of recession cultureIt's the photo opportunity, then the act of posting it on Facebook that Lolbabez really loves. Thanksbabez!Bye! So there you go guys, Enjoy!

My favourite part is ''That's one of my characters: Lolbabez'' On an 'Off Topic' related note; I was Christmas shopping today in one of the bookshop's and side by side was Marianne Faithful's autobiogrpahy AND a Joni Mitchell DVD. So either Patrick's soulmate was shopping in there before me OR Patrick, himself, has the power of bi-location...
