Patrick will be at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Wednesday, June 24. HOORAY Tickets go on sale TOMORROW, May 8 at 10am. www.rockandrollhoteldc.com/portal/calendar/The Hotel utilizes www.ticketalternative.com/ so you can just search there after the time, too, I guess. 1) Who is going 2) Logistics? 3) Meetup/eat dinner beforehand? Or afterward? Or just stand in line together in a happy bunch? 1) I am going, so help me sweet baby Jesus to get off work. 2) I will be taking metro, which I hear is inconvenient for this venue 3) I am happy to meet up with you, internet strangers!

I will SO be there and I am buying tickets tomorrow morning. Not sure how I'm getting there yet. I have to come down from Baltimore and will probably take the metro... but looking at the website, there is a free shuttle service? www.rockandrollhoteldc.com/portal/directions/ Not quite sure how it works but I'm coming down EARRRRLY for this, and I will be wearing something appropriately outrageous this time around.

Whoa whoa, sorry, the tickets go on sale on Friday the 18th, not tomorrow! I will try to get mine then. There is no Friday the 18th! The 18th of May is a Monday. I am assuming that the date listed on ticketalternative's event description is incorrect because according to Rock and Roll Hotel's website a lot of events' tickets are slated to go on sale tomorrow.

If you're coming down from Baltimore, the MARC train (Penn line) is really great. Union Station is right on the red line, and it's $7 one way. The only drawback is that the last train back to Baltimore leaves at 10:30pm. I am also coming down from Baltimore, and that is how I usually go about it, but I have a place to stay.

I usually take the MARC if I'm going to DC. But last year, despite leaving a Fleet Foxes show early (they played my favorite song of theirs RIGHT after I left, too), I missed the last MARC back to Baltimore and was trapped at Union Station until 3AM. Or maybe it was 4, I don't remember. x_x Eef. I have a place to stay in DC during the academic year, but not over the summer, tragically.

I am rarely ever on here, but I just wanted to say hi and be excited over finally seeing Mr. Wolf in person!!!! I looked at the pictures of the venue, and it looks pretty cozy, which is supremely awesome. I will seriously be counting down the days to this...

I think, so far, yes. And it is impossible for girls to be creepers. If doors are at 6:30, I'm planning on getting there at least an hour ahead of time. We can stand in line together and it will be adorable. And since I'm taking metro, I might be taking a shuttle to the venue? Not sure on those logistics yet, but we have a while, so if anyone else is taking metro we can meet up before and take the same shuttle and such. Since I am from Baltimore, I find that DC is generally safer on the whole. But then again, I haven't been to the most sketchy parts of DC, so it's not like my anecdata is accurate.

There are some terrible parts of DC, as bad or worse than Baltimore, from what I've heard, but I already think I've hit rock bottom as far as sketchy/dangerous concert locations go (a warehouse/garage in the slums of west Baltimore, front of the building was boarded up and looked abandoned, half the buildings in the neighborhood were also boarded up, crappy lighting, drugs in plain sight, the police shut the show down halfway through because local kids outside were throwing sparklers at people or something). I'm sure this place can't be worse than that, so I find it hard to feel concerned, lol. I am also probably going to show up an hour before doors open.

Yeah, someone I know went to Whartscape a few years ago before it got big, and they were literally playing in alleys and drinking boxed wine. I love Baltimore.

This IS one of those really bad areas. But it's definitely only bad outside. I remember going there two years ago to see Dandi Wind, and we tried to go to the restroom inside this burger place and we were followed by these men for a couple blocks. We waited in my car for a few hours despite the heat because it was so bad. And PS: I LOVE Whartscape.

Does the shuttle run all night? Also, how late does the metro run? I really hate driving in DC so I was hoping to take the metro from Alexandria or somewhere else...I really wish this was on a weekend, that's all I'm gonna say...

I don't know about the shuttle but the metro runs until about 12:20 on weeknights. But it does depend on where you're going. I'd say midnight to be safe.

1) DC curfew laws say something or other about the kids not being out after 11 on weeknights, so hopefully things will be winding down by then? Anyone who saw him last time, that was on a Monday, right? Was it um, timely? I'm trying to think about when this would get out so it's easier to figure out transportation afterward.
2) Figuring out this shuttle thing!
It seems like those of us who want to get there around 5:30 would want to take Shuttle #2, which leaves Gallery Place at 5 and arrives at 14th & H at 5:25. On the way back, it leaves Rose's Dream (which is right nearby: RnRH is 1353 H St. and Rose's is 1370) at 11:40, arriving at Gallery Pl at 11:55.
If this place is so sketchy, I'm not so sure about waiting around beforehand for more than an hour.

I mean, I think it will be okay... Just be prepared. Last time I wore a ridiculously colorful pair of skirts and glitter and bright makeup. That was obviously a bad choice. But if you do plan to dress absurdly, then cover up for the journey.
